Power estimation.....

    5K1TZX Its all never ending....

    Finally months after getting the "UAS ZED GT28 TURBO KIT 350rwkw" installed
    im going in for my first power tune on wednesday...just would like to get some opinions on what numbers it should pull, any opinions of how much boost would be good for achieving good numbers with these turbos and supporting mods? :confused: The engine is in top working order with a full top to bottom service last week.

    What i've done under the bonnet is:

    Done a full rebuild at 89,000 with aftermarket parts listed and full genuine Nissan rebuild kit and full engine balance.
    I've done 11,000 on the rebuilt motor
    And will be using BP Ultimate 98 (lol best we got in TAS)

    UAS 5 Bolt Dump + 2.5" engine pipes
    ACL 'RaceSpec' Oversized Forged pistons
    ACL Gapless rings
    Alloy Front Mount Intercooler.(600x400x90)
    APEX'i Full 2.5" Zorst w/High flow Cats
    APEX'i Super Megaphone Mufflers
    APEXi Power Intake
    ARP forged rod bolts
    ARP head stud kit
    UAS GT2860R Turbo kit
    UAS Extrude honed ported & sandblasted exhaust manifolds
    All new braided turbo cooling and oil lines
    Custom turbo hardpipes with more gradual bends than the stock ones.
    40thou overbore
    EAGLE forged conrods
    Full size stainless steel air guide
    GReddy 1.6mm headgasket
    INJEN Polished hardpipe kit
    JWT heavy duty valve springs
    Treated (shot pien) and balanced crank
    New radiator
    NISMO 555cc Injectors
    Port and polish
    Throttle bodies bored to 55mm
    GReddy PROFEC B SPEC II EBC
    Twin blue 'Go Fast Bits' Hybrid BOV's
    WOLF 3D v4 engine management system
    XTREME Extra HD brass button clutch
    Braided lines to replace stock fuel hardlines.

    Since no one down here really knows imports i'll see how we go...:(

    With only 555's and no adjustable FPR (if you have you did not list it) then I would not push the boost past 18-20PSI as you won't safely keep the fuel up to it. Never heard a good story about a Wolf 3D in a Z yet either but I suppose there is always a first.

    And yeah I havent heard of a good story of a WOLF 3D aswell :confused:

    My mechanic who put it in was very good with them and did a lovely tune at 248rwkw on a totally stock motor at 12psi before I did the rebuild...but yeh...he moved away...kinda to another state haha so BUGGER! :rolleyes: now all the other tuners down here are not famililar with them

    look for something safe.

    push it to 18 psi and see what happens.

    450 horse on pump fuel on a safe low boost (18 to 20) is good fun.

    what fuel pump??

    True. The GT28R turbos are only rated efficient to 20psi anyway. So wouldn't push it past that.

    My guess would be 310.3rwkw aswell. :p

    I would change to a dual pod as he is reaching the area of restriction at just over 300rwkw..(400rwkw) which is close to 500hp flywheel..

    There are tuners in Tas who know imports, just not Zeds. Also, I told you of a mechanic who just recently did the latest Wolf3D course/certificate... You just don't listen to me.

    Hard one to guess, because I know they won't tune it to its full potential at ProAuto. I'm going to guess 260rwkw (but hope I'm wrong) :)

    PS: No, you can't have my hardpipes :D

    2.5" zorst system will be to restrictive. 555cc will get maxed out. not to mention me not knowing how tuners in TAS are. I recon 280rwkw. Ill be anstonished over 300rwkw but what do i know about 300rwkw Zs...

    Once you get bigger zorst system and i recon go 800cc injectors and 25psi you can break 350-380rwkw!

    i dont see why 550ccs would be maxed out if people run close to 300rwkw with stock 370 injectors?

    You're an idiot.

    To use a well known example shifter's car made 401rwkw with bigger turbos (GT28RS), same manifolds, 555cc injectors, and 2.5" exhaust.

    JP had had a slot car motor nudge 400rwkw with agressive timing and race fuel using same GT28R turbos, 555cc injectors, same manifolds and reground cams.

    Max out 555s? Not with GT28R.

    25psi? Maybe, but certainly not everyday.

    350rwkw mon those turbos? Not without head work.

    Apparently sweet **** all.

    I needed two fuel pumps before I could get to 20psi with 555cc injectors. Unless the fuel pump has been upgraded I say 270RWKW.

    Just finished mine

    Here is a list of what has been done? I got 310 rwkw on 16lb boost at 75% duty cycle, I can boost to 20 or 22 but I want the motor to last longer than sex with the missus:D

    Full engine rebuild including ?

    Balanced crank, re-bored and ACL forged pistons, new bearings and race spec gasket kit, molly con rods, new hi vol oil pump, new starter motor and new water pump, engine mounts and welsh plugs etc

    UAS Garret 28/60 twin turbo kit with new dump pipes, blasted and tuned etc

    Heads have been fully rebuilt and shaved, balanced and polished, standard cams

    Series 2 ignition modules, new sard injectors, new injection coils, new spark plugs

    Full new wiring harness and loom

    New Apexy racing FC computer, new BOV?s and pods

    Greddy B-spec boost controller set to 6lb and 16lb
    Greddy engine management system

    New side mount high volume intercoolers, all pipe work is new and is polished aluminium and silicone, re-cored standard radiator.

    New crank angle sensor and knock sensor.

    Plumbed oil catch can.
