Some more progress today after a late night visit to the garage to drop all the coilovers so it's tucking rim on the rear. It'd tuck on the front if I fitted the guards but that won't be until all the custom intercooler pipe-work is done. I tidied all the drivers side wiring up and put it in conduit. Took most of the day at around 5 hours to do properly. No wonder I've been putting it off! Then fitted the drivers side fender brace after drilling and pressing in some nutserts. Easy as, probably took half an hour tops! Lining up the front bolt holes to predrill for the nutserts. First nutsert in. Underside of fender brace with top nutsert in place and bolted to bring bracket hard up against chassis. Then I drilled the hole and fitted the nutsert (with Loctite) All bolted up with window washer and main loom zip tied to the new fender bracket.
It just looks like a rivet gun. When you buy yours get some mild steel nutserts as most just come with the ally ones. I prefer matching the type of steel after having all sorts of binding problems when using stainless bolts on my ally bike frame.
Passenger side fender brace and conduit done. Getting so close to starting on the custom intake boxes with flat panel K&N filters
That loom inside the driver's side fender looks messy. You could clean it up better than that. here's mine. not perfect by any means, but looking at it I'm wondering why you have all that wire coiled up?
I dunno. It's not finalized yet, and it won't be until I remember which wire goes where, and to which part of the engine loom once i put that into place. Most of those larger wires will be shortened I think, but no need to just yet until it's running. BTW, clean your inner wheel wells will ya!
Holy Mother of sweetness Just finished reading through this entire thread. Cannot wait to see this thing on the road!! :br:
Sure, but you have to put it all back together from where it is now. Can personally deliver for an even 30K
I would never be able to finish it off as well as you....and i usually just pay people to do it for me ahah....keep going....and NEVER sell it.
Why yes After finishing putting the new bike back together I managed to tidy the garage up and put stray parts etc away in storage boxes. Most were laid carefully on top of the Z :/ I pulled the cover off it and gave it a dust off. Still looks great even on vehicle positioning jacks Cleaned out old rubber from under the rear guards as I'm going to be cutting around in there shortly. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what's going on here?
My guesses; One of those subs that sits over the spare wheel (could explain the battery) Your groceries
The rubber just comes off by hand after a little rubbing. Really easy. Hah I'm not mini tubbing it. Already got 10's under the rear which is more than wide enough for me. Plus I'd have to completely reposition and remake the sub boxes as the magnets of the subs are positioned as close to the existing inner wheel tubs as I could get. I used the floor line and wheel well to form the enclosures fiberglass floor. Plus moving the enclosures wouldn't allow the targa tops to fit anymore... You get the picture It's a little way off grabbing groceries again Ed, but getting closer The correct guess goes to Z32 TT. I'm sinking an Odyssey battery into the space saver well that will be positioned under the space saver. Nice and tidy and out of the way Here's the cutout outline>>
About 90mm under the lowest part of the spare wheel well Ross, which is higher than the diff and rear bar.
