    Hi all

Was interested in doing a 300 kmh speedo for a TT.
What is the best way to go about this.
What is the best model to go after.
Do they all bolt straight in and adjust speed automatically or do you have to put a resistor in etc.

Was thinking of customising my Speedo anyway, so was also looking at options other than buying the 300kmh speedo straight out, rather just mod one to that. I have looked for dashes before but turned out more undecided than ever and the time to do this is getting close to do it.

I plan to have a customised face, possible white with personalised face and blue customised lights as well as CF inlay possible chrome surrounds (MMnnn???) so I am thinking that getting a 300 kmph speedo might be waste if I can adjust the speedo to the new face anyway-300kmph reading/ notches - So is it possible to do this? are there any links anyone knows to doing this?

Anyone got any advice/ ideas or info on this subject?
I find that money has nothing to do with it in the end, as it is about style and the amount of effort and time you put into the detail anyway - the end look is what counts I guess - nothing else

Pictures of great speedo / dashes would be awesome if any one has any, as I am still not 100% exactly sure on which way I will go.

What have you done to your dash to make it look hot! :zlove:

I am positive there are lots of different flashy speedo's out there already - I would really like to know who thinks they have the best and coolest dash as well in a Z

My hubby will have to do the work for me once I decide - I'm the slave driver - LOL

Just for a start, sure there's more:-
Mines, Nismo, Impul, Zsport all make 300km/hr speedos
    Veilside and Ab-flug make 320km/hr

All plug and play, but you'll retain your 180km/hr limiter

There is the cheaper option of getting a 300km/hr face, and perform the resistor mod within the speedo. Ensure you get a reputable face however, some have a tendancy to warp with Summer heat.

Not the best pic, but you get a real nice effect from the light reflecting off the rings and mirroring the the gauge markings. much better in real life.
Resistors will be needed if you fit new faces to your existing dash, there's a tech article somewhere.

    Thanks OZX320

What is the better ones or are they all the same
i.e. I imagine that Nismo or Mines would be better quality - is that right or they pretty much all the same.

Hey Zductiv - the red looks okay - be better for night too
The only pic so far - so your the winner so far - lol

Anyone got a pic with the chrome rings in? Just trying to get an idea how they really look fitted

    Cheers all

Hey warren 300- is that a face fitted to your speedo - or was it 330kmph to start with?
If so what model is that?
    Thanks for the Pic too!

300km speedo are easy to do and should come with instructions.

    Good luck.

I've got the 260k Aus Spec speedo too. Love it. Had a 300k speedo in the last zed and it was a bit silly, not quite enough resolution.

    AWESOME EFFORT BROCK32!!!!!!!!
Really like what you have done - you have given me lots to think about with that Pic!

How the F.... did you do that.... says me!

Obviously you did your own faceplate - Were the gauges measured to fit then overlayed with the same faceplate?

Very impressive regardless - well done Brock!

Thanks Chrispy for the info on the 260 and resolution - I always take note of anything you say, as it will be a valid point I am sure.

You can buy gauge rings in various incarnations from Z1 and conceptzperformance.

Blue backlighting is easy just swap out the incandescent bulbs for LEDs.

Simlenton sold a nice dash a little while back that was carbon fibre with nismo gauges

Oh and what is with "upgrading speedos"? Not a shot at you Linda but really these cars will never see 300 and very few will crack 180...
