I dont think I'll take the challenge of trying to remake what a new Z should be like, but atleast these modifications will be in the same spirit.

    Hello,
I am relatively new on this forum and I assume that you have been a member here for years, so I have missed the bit of info about you being a designer in Vancouver. Maybe you can tell us a bit more about the Z culture over there and how your ideas about Z cars have been accepted.

How many years are you spending to get your first rough concepts started?

How many other car models are you planning to restyle?

I hope you are working on styling a newer car than a Z32, because I get the feeling that your lead time to commercial production may be too long for a car that is already 22 years old.

Has it occurred to you, to concentrate your efforts on a newer car that really needs some styling help. I really don't see how you could go wrong if you tried to make the 370z look less Porschish.

    Total my personal opinion.....

I like the Zed because it looks like a Zed (32)... nothing else!!!

making it look more Fezzari or Porchz gives me a little sick in the mouth.

Saying that.. it doesn't mean that it can't be made to look good that way... it just isn't a Zed any more..

it's like giving a face lift to a beautiful woman to try and make her look like another beautify woman.. What is the point????!!!!

I feel because the stock Zed headlights are so close together, it makes the car look feminine... I also find the Italia styling more appealing.

Ill be doing CNC machine test cuts in the next 3-4 days, I plan to mill a 1/5 scale car (maybe an Agera) first then start the kit.

Why would I make a CNC machine capable of cutting large foam pieces? I know where this is going... to make a sex doll right.

there is an image that overlays the shapes of all the Z's (240-350) and shows how the styling cues were followed, I have seen it here and can never find it when I want. It may not be evident just at a glance but when I saw this picture I could see a definate evolution of the Z shapes. And it did not end with the 300, no matter how much we may think otherwise.

I wonder if it was a cost issue to not use the slick Z32 chassis for a 350z because bloated is the first thing that comes to mind when comparing the two.

This hatch rear fits better with the other Nissan models but does it look right?

A CNC, paper mache constructing machine, what a great idea. :)

Looks like I'll need to make a strong hood to replace the existing.

As a normal human being for once (your work is crap....so I'll ignore it for now).

WHY? Why are you trying to re-invent the wheel on a 25 year old car? There won't be many people out there that would want to modify the car to this extreme, let alone drive a car this old and be willing to try and turn it into something its not. The body of the zed should not be molested at all.

You need to focus on new cars, not a 25 year old one. At the moment your wasting your skills (well what you have... is not much) and you should be focusing on where the demand is for body kits. Not some shady old mazda 323 from 1990... not a zed from 1990.... try something different, like a MODERN.... european car or something.

Your just wasting our time... and frankly... your wasting my time whenever you post this useless crap.

    end-rant . over....

No modern cars have the same slick style chassis as the ZX, never mind all the performance potential it can have.

Converting other old cars is my thought of recycling old cars and to also make profits with cheap sales but in mass numbers.

Most people outside of car forums dont know too much about cars, and only care how it looks. So an Italia grand tourer looker like mine should be appealing to most people off the street.

Yeah and people with old shitbox cars will want to turn it into a ferrari ? lol.

you wont make any profits, its taken you 6 years to finally get where you are. by the time you start producing ... it would have been at-least 60 years and all these cars your working on will either be recycled or put in a museum.

plus most people will know where it came from and logical people will say "but its still 30 years old underneath

ever heard of the saying mutton dressed up as lamb? well this is 30 year old mutton.

Yes but at the same time a clunker dressed up with classic Italian styling could fall in the same price bracket as new set of Honda Accord wheels... under $5k.

Also I wouldnt focus on trying to find kit buyers, I would convert the cars first then display it for sale.

I put together a model that wont cut into the engine bay, so I could still use the stock hood underneath.

I think Ive solved my CNC jamming issue and next week I'll be working on stylish square headlights.
