    Update - Day 5

Well I didn't get a chance to update the thread yesterday, with the EFI hose drama and all!

So progress on day 5 as follows....

Keep stripping out donor Z of all parts I need and swap them into my Z. I didn't get as much done as I'd hoped for but got some more wiring under control, the power steering, intake piping, oil cooler, etc. Fun Fun Fun! :zlove:

    Update - Day 6

OK, today I made some real progress!!!! The long motor has been assembled! :)

Short motor cleaned up and inspected (JE Forged Pistons and some fresh bearings). Laid down some cometic MLS head gaskets, dropped on some freshly rebuilt heads with Si valves and JUN hd valve springs. Oh and they're being held down with a set of ARP head studs. That's enough for a throw-together engine for my daily. :)

Pictures speak a thousand words don't they???

Yeah, sharing a workshop with Mindarie Exhaust means I have to put up with the occasional falcon, commonwhore, etc.

We'll have to get started on yours soon Andrew! :)

It is a nice colour... though I really did like the original blue ZWEETT so I shall reserve judgement till it's all done and polished.

    Keep up the good work,
    Adam.

Had to bust out a few Z's this afternoon and when I looked at the clock it was way past home time and we're going out to dinner tonight! argh!

Tomorrow being Sunday... I might happen to accidentally find myself at the workshop all day.... I'll give you guys a definite though..... my Z will be running in 5 days time! I'll bet my bottom dollar on it!

I will collect that bottom dollar when I get back from work next week ;):p

I like the Titanium colour too, so might use that as my respray colour in the future too (tho I do love the grey I have ;) ).

    Cheers

    Day 9 - Sunday

After waking up with a mild hangover and a knock knock at my front door, Andrew and I went down to the workshop for a morning session of zedding.

Big thanks to Andrew for this mornings efforts, he removed a set of stock turbos and manifolds from a spare engine I had on the workshop floor while I installed the timing belt and associated engine parts.

I'd like to run without the front timing covers however I don't like my chances of that when I go over the pits...

Tomorrow I'll install a set of Sard 800cc injectors I have spare and get the intake manifold back on. I'm pretty confident in saying that I'll have the engine back in the car by tomorrow evening. :)

Yeah Patrick, I went a little crazy with the wrinkle finish! :) All of the cam covers and the plenum. I'll have to pull the throttle bodies apart tomorrow and wrinkle them too! :)
