VIC NSW/VIC Winton Tampered Tack Day 4 Nov 08

Noting that there is now a sudden influx of Track Day junkies, I figure that I will get my next intended track day listed as a coming events so those who need to can get their fix.



4th of November, that?s right Tuesday. Whilst, all the masses may be focused in the awesome power of 20 odd horses running counter clockwise around an unsealed oval track. I think we might find it more interesting if there were over 1000horses, Especially the 600 that that will be churning behind my head on the challenging Winton Circuit.

This is organised by Tampered Motorsport, who posts here as Big Daddy, so I?ll leave it up to him to fill in the details. You don?t need anything special, and licences can be purchased on the day. You can go as hard, or slow, as you feel comfortable (I fall into the slow category). Also, for an additional $10 you can take passengers, as Tony (instamatic) has been with myself, he wanted to stop for a pi$$ stop half way I took that long on a lap.

There is something for everyone, first timers to hard core Fangio wanna be?s. So even if you are not wanting to risk wearing off some of your precious rubber 10 profiles on you 28inch rims, you can cruise up for the day and jump in for a ride with some of us junkies.

But be warned, as many are finding out it becomes completely addictive. You will get you speed fix without any hassles from speed cameras, or the police on how loud your car is (actually the louder the better).

I am away then so I can't make it but will make sure I get along to one of the other ones you are going to be attending, I need to see your car on the track

I am also pretty keen to drive around the track at Winton so that is a bit of extra incentive for me. I am pretty disappointed to be missing this one.

 

I will probably come to this one But I dont think I can come to the October one.

Tampered, Dude we need more at Sandown or P.I. Not Winton.

I agree more tampered track days where i don't have to get up in the middle of the night to get there

 

damn, i finish exams on 6th november is there one scheduled for late november or maybe december? i want to drive winton, supposed to be a good track for newbies...

 

it's a small track without uber long straights like sandown or philip island. evens up the playing field for those without massive power.

 

Very tempted by this Dave, but will have to decide closer to the date.

That is why I was asking about the other dates.

Ah, yeah.

 

i want to come but an event like this will take away too much study time, not just the one day for the event but all the prep work in the week before so i can't come unfortunately. sandown next sunday will be my last "fun" thing i do in the zed until after exams.

 

Looks like there is a lot of interest in the concept but a few issues for people with the timing.

I like the idea of the December 21 day as a Christmas forum event, there is also plenty of time to plan for it and less on in the way of work and study for people.

I would be keen to try an event at Caulder if it was run too, though I think they have bumped their price up quite a lot recently.

 

If anyone is thinking of going for this one maybe we could drive up on Saturday and stay in Benalla Sat night.

Some of the old style hotels are cheap. $50 a night for a double,

So I booked one for the 27th when we go up this month.

If you dont want to get up at 3.00 am and leave from Melbourne for the track day. I am thinking a cheap night out with beers and an informal Aus300zx dinner in Benalla on Sat night would be nice.

I am sorry Sandeep I am studying postgrad stuff myself at the moment, just rubbing it as I had to pull out of the DECA day, had over 100,000words worth of assignments.

There are a few more later in the year. And, as peter mentions above the christmas break up sounds a goer.

Chad, they fill up pretty quickly this time of year, the Tmapered guys re really good and keep you in the picture in regards to what is happening. Adam, shane and the gang are great value.... if only they owuld do Phillip Island or Calder...... I am happy to pay :help:

 

Sounds like a good plan. I'll have to get my rear main done, a new flywheel/clutch fitted and something done about the stock PCV system before I take my car on the track, but I'd definitely be down for an overnighter to Winton.

Not much on at the factory toward the end of next week.

 

Don't feel like driving up on Saturday is the track day isn't till Tuesday Graham. Track day is on Cup day.
