To be honest i'll only go TH400 when i know i can't go any faster on the 5spd. Link to GTX67 comp wheels: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Billet-T...57?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item3f46fec82d
WELL, not much progress as work is pretty full on but i was wondering if anyone has or know someone that has used the LOJ LS1 adaptor kit for the 5spd? There are a couple of wrecked VT SS's for sale for less than 2k and the thought of a LS1 with a precision 7675 sound pretty good to me
Well, i also put new rims on yesterday and a carbon nose panel a while back 18x9.5 at the rear with 295/30R18's http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/...1298133_2980754144207509662_n_zps0bbrxorv.jpg
Actually, IIRC in NSW it is now legal if the car has been engineered. We use to have a weightx2.5 for FI and weightx3 for NA but that is now long gone.
I sorted out why the car was a nugget after 5500rpm, seems the std ecu i borrowed didn't like anything more than 8-9PSI so i threw the "chipped" ecu back in and pulled timing from 15* to 8* base. Upped the fuel pressure to 54PSI and upped the boost to 16PSI, she gets to 16PSI at 3200-ish RPM. Still need to sort out the gearbox issues and tune it properly(not this 15 minute side of the road bs i did yesterday ) but hey i'm fairly happy with how it goes for now. AFM: 4.615v IDC: 97% Boost: 15.8PSI (spikes to 16.5 initially but settles quickly) She can turn the 295's nicely in first if you give it enough. A poor little WRX thought he would get the best of me last night but i shut him up quite quickly Quick vid of how she goes with a little brake boost, excuse the slow shifting. [yt]FOd3VTr5GHE[/yt]
Did a few quick tests over the weekend and found my BOV pipes were leaking really badly so i changed them for a spare set with brand new clamps yesterday. Injector duty doesn't go over 93% now (98% before) and the car overall feels a lot smoother and a bit quicker . Upped the boost a tad more to 1.20Bar, no pinging, AFR's are rich as anything and bloody hell she can move now. Waiting for RGS performance to get some top feed rails in stock to go E85 soon. Gave it a good hard run and managed to hit a 5.115v AFM signal.
Just ordered a set of Bosch 1015cc top feed injectors, still waiting for RGS performance to get a set of rails in so i can go to E85. I'm craving more power, 18PSI isn't enough :-D
Pulled the fuel pressure back a few PSI today, still rich as anything but 54PSI was a tad too much. Did some quick testing from low RPM, 3rd gear gets 1.20Bar by 3340RPM. Boost spikes to 1.20Bar initially but settles back to 1.10bar(16PSI) very quickly and holds to redline. Can't wait to see how it goes with the flex fuel setup, first and second gears are already a tad sketchy with the 295's so with another 5-6PSI boost she should be very fun for now.
Are you still thinking of a boosted LS in the future? Or u gonna see how far u can take the vg. ? I'm building an 1/8 mile car at the moment, it's got a 302 windsor but I'm thinking of just going boosted LS from the start
Sticking with my VG for now, but i'm thinking about buying an NA and putting a boosted LS in that with an TH400. I just can't bring myself to put an auto in my slicktop
Looks like i got a selin translator sorted and a second MAF thanks to slicktop_beast, i bought a cheap set of tune agent dumps that i was going to port match the hell out of and see how they do but im not sure its worth it. I'm really keen to try a set of 2.5" Intercooler pipes with the new massive japtek smic's that are out to see if they make any noticeable improvement. Its all coming to plan fairly nicely, still need to get a few more bits and bobs but i'm keen to hit the drags and see what it can do
Agree with anti. There isn't enough porting in the world to fix those tuneagent dumps. Go stock for sure or if you are staying 4 bolt turbos think about some of my epic 3 inch bell mouths.
