Rear wing fitted - I used a 2pac epoxy similar to araldite that is designed to bond to steel and fibreglass amongst other things - so I think it'll be ideal for this purpose - it's called TechniGlue Finding pin holes in the primer - and filling them in Painted the nosepanel to test out the colour that I had in mind - perfect - goes with my black/red theme - it's a metallic black with a red pearl over the top
Fitting the side skirts - kaminari Sides, 2k front bar, and a new front guard - the old one was too out of shape Perfect fit
Dynamat (finishing it off) Finally got around to doing the doors, roof and rear hatch. Didn't do the roof in-between the 2 targas, and didn't do the sides of the hatch only the middle towards the rear of the car, but I think it'll be enough Here's some snaps of the doors, I did the inside and the outside Passenger side before: Passenger side half way there: Passenger side finished: You might notice that I got rid of that plastic shite... I hate it, and I hate getting that black sticky crap over your skin, clothes, and everything else! So I've done away with it, re-used the original plastic parts to protect the back of the speaker and the seatbelt from rain, but the rest I threw out. I've replaced it with dynamat, and also with some other plastic stuff that I've duct taped where required. Drivers side: edit: oh yeah, surface prep - I rubbed over all the panels with "wax and grease remover" - you wouldn't believe how much dust+grime builds up over 20 years on the inside of the doors
Brilliant Ebony No I'm not talking about Tyra Banks Brilliant Ebony is the name mazda gave to the paint that I've chosen for my zed Action snap: It gets pretty hard to see in there... It gets the thumbs up, very happy with it: Next step is to sand off the overspray and dust, and then buff it, but that'll have to wait for a while, because it's engine time
if u have overspray in areas that you arent going to buff then use a clay bar, it will take it right off
Realy good job you are doing, its good to see someone doing it all themselves, I love that colour that Mazda use it realy looks good in the sun, its the kind of effect I will be doing but not quite the same shade (when I finaly get a car) Good work, keep it up
this is gonna be something different when its finished, going by the time spent just sound proofing the car well done mate
