I know what you mean man.. It pulled harrrrrd for an old motor. Definitely an all round good base to drive.. And build up at the same time. I did get told however if the clutch starts to slip... To try every re adjustment and bleeding on the system that you can try. 9 times out of 10 it just needs adjusting. Where abouts you located man? Would be good to check your car out again as it really impressed me when I drove it!
I'm in constitution hill, just next to northmead but it's a pretty shady area, I'm only in the clear with the zed cause I know the local drug dealers so they wouldn't f**k with my car. I'd be happy to meet up one day, I'm going to be going on that cruze on the third of march for Eric and Kylie. It doesn't matter I think the clutch has been in there for ages and will probably need replacing anyway. So 6 puck brass button will be going in on the 27th, I'd do it myself but there is no space so I'm getting Unigroup engineering to do it as I've had dealings with them in the past and they do great quality work and they try to help you as much as they can. Also, 2k spec tails came from Chrispy look so good.
Haha YES! Keep everyone on your side so no one will touch you or your zed I may be on this cruise also! Still sorting finer details but might make it. Yeahhh it's probably a sign anyways better to do it now than have it completely go one day. I'm sure they will, but make sure they adjust the pedal and hydraulic system and all that. I haven't dealt with unigroup yet but can vouch for mrcdyno if you need another shop for anything. Lights will be awesome too. I keep going to replace lights and change the looks but stray to the more expensive performance avenue haha. More powerrrr!!
Yeah I am getting MRC dyno to tune my safc, I just wanna know what power I'm putting down really but if they can lean it out and make me some power I'm not complaining. But I know Ben from his days at unique autosports. He tuned my NA so I'm going to get him to tune my TT. Unigroup have always helped me with issues that I didn't understand so I'm always happy to use them, and they are fair on prices aswell. Yeah my 2K lights were a must on this build. Gotta look sexy outside aswell. But I'm going for a black and polished engine bay look so ill swap out the plenum, clear timing covers, I already got the hard pipes and black couplers.
finally managed to fix the images. so mods done to the car include 2k tails z1 hard pipes uas air guide and alloy undertray slotted breaks and new pads HID KIT the day i brought her home. HID kit installed [/IMG] [/IMG] 2k tail lights installed [/IMG] and today saw the alloy undertray go in. pretty nice piece of kit it is. [/IMG]
Stillen lip!!! One if the best things I could have hoped for has happened... I finally found a stillen lip for sale and the guy was willing to post it. Picked it up for $280 for a genuine GTZ lip. Pics when it arrives. This plus foggy ducts and my exterior is complete.
Update... So today saw both happy and sad times in the 300ZX... My genuine stillen GTZ lip showed up. Super happy I got all excited Butt The car overheated. Nearly blew the motor and it left me on the side of te road for 2 hours. Basically the coolant went all weird an shot out of the radiator so I purged the system and changed the coolant over. So new coolant, car drank 7L of it :O But now more bad news, I feel like the car has developed a knocking noise. Basically after we turned it on.. Knocking sounded like bottom end bearings.. But we turned it off for 15 min turned it back on and it was gone, put the car up under load. Nothing, drove it home, blows no smoke, came onto boost fine and strong, no abnormal noises other than a noisy throw out bearing. So I honestly have no idea what it was. I just hope it doesn't come back. Thanks for looking.
Big update time So for anyone who is still interested I'm deciding to update this thread to be more of a personal log book of mods and the stuff I do to the car. So a few weeks ago i got around to fitting my stillen lip that i bought from the facebook group and one of the salesmen from Honda in homebush thought this oils be the best and opportune time to t bone my car. Stillen lip fitted at Theo's engine pull. [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] But after it got side swiped the manager from Honda came down and I handed the keys over he asked me what I wanted done as that for me was to paint the whole front end and respray and replace the guard. Luckily it was only a small hit and the salesman accepted full responsibility as soon as it happened. So within a few days it looked like this.. Picking her up from Hondas workshop [/IMG] [/IMG] And I finally get her home [/IMG] It ran well for a month or two..then.. So for anyone that doesn't know which is everyone except dean, theo, emile, nem, rob and Jamie. The car's rocker covers leaked down and finally got past the spark plug guide seals and ruined the spark plug guides, fouled half the plugs and now it's constantly running on 5 and blowing blue smoke.... So all in all. Plenum pull time, which is good cause it's never been done before on my zed, surprised it made it to 200,000 without one. So I spoke to Rob (ROB260) and we worked out a good plenum pull list for me as I'm a apprentice so money doesn't come easy for me. But still I managed to scrounge up just over 2k and dropped 1.6k in my plenum pull parts order at concept z. List is as follows ------------------------ SKU: NIS300-13287-30P00 Item Name: Nissan OEM 300ZX Ornament Rocker Cover - Spark Plug Guide RH Z32 Cost: $73.58 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 1 Total Cost: $73.58 SKU: NIS300-13287-30P10 Item Name: Nissan OEM 300ZX Ornament Rocker Cover - Spark Plug Guide LH Z32 Cost: $70.00 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 1 Total Cost: $70.00 SKU: NIS300-13500-VP1KT Item Name: Nissan OEM 300ZX Timing Belt Cover Bolt Kit Cost: $75.00 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 1 Total Cost: $75.00 SKU: NIS300-13295-30P20 Item Name: Nissan OEM 300ZX Spark Plug Rocker Cover Seal Z32 Cost: $1.25 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 6 Total Cost: $7.50 SKU: NIS300-11820-HKTTT-S2 Item Name: CZP 300ZX Silicone PCV Hose Kit w/ PCV Valves - Twin Turbo Blue Cost: $83.99 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 1 Total Cost: $83.99 SKU: 300-CZP-SSEBBK Item Name: CZP 300ZX Stainless Steel Engine Bay Bolt Kit Z32 Cost: $49.95 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 1 Total Cost: $49.95 SKU: NIS300-13000-XXX12 Item Name: Nissan OEM 300ZX 120,000 Mile Timing Belt - Complete Kit w/ Drive Belts Z32 AMS Twin Turbo 1990-1993 Cost: $600.00 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 1 Total Cost: $600.00 SKU: NIS300-WSP-16600-E-KT Item Name: Wiring Specialties 300ZX Fuel Injector Connectors (90-92 NA(93TTCV)/90-94 ) Early Style Set of 6 Twin Turbo(1990-1994) Cost: $27.29 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 1 Total Cost: $27.29 SKU: 300-WSP-B4343-KT-WL Item Name: Wiring Specialties 300ZX Ignition Coil Pack / 02 Sensor Connector Set Z32 Cost: $45.00 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 1 Total Cost: $45.00 SKU: NIS300-16175 Item Name: Nissan OEM 300ZX Throttle Body Gasket Cost: $5.50 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 1 Total Cost: $5.50 SKU: NIS300-13270-30PKT-P Item Name: Nissan OEM 300ZX Valve Cover Gasket Set Cost: $54.00 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 1 Total Cost: $54.00 SKU: NIS300-13291-30P00 Item Name: Nissan OEM 300ZX Spark Plug Ornament Cover Seal Cost: $3.62 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 6 Total Cost: $21.72 SKU: 300-92400-CZP Item Name: CZP 300ZX Silicone Heater Core Hoses Blue Cost: $25.49 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 1 Total Cost: $25.49 SKU: 300-NOP-200 Item Name: NRG NOP-200-BL 12x1.25 Magnetic Oil Drain Plug Nissan Blue Cost: $15.95 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 1 Total Cost: $15.95 SKU: NIS300-23785-40F00 Item Name: Nissan OEM 300ZX AAC / IACV Valve Gasket Z32 Cost: $2.20 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 1 Total Cost: $2.20 SKU: NIS300-14719-30P05 Item Name: Nissan OEM 300ZX EGR Plenum Gasket Cost: $4.13 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 2 Total Cost: $8.26 SKU: NIS300-14033-30PKT Item Name: Nissan OEM 300ZX Balance Tube O-ring Set Z32 Cost: $19.38 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 1 Total Cost: $19.38 SKU: 300-AMS-300ZX Item Name: AMS Motorsports 300ZX 4 Piece Underdrive Pulley Kit - Z32 90-93 Twin Turbo Cost: $258.00 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 1 Total Cost: $258.00 SKU: 300-11823-CLPKT Item Name: CZP 300ZX Silicone PCV Hose Clamp Set Z32 Cost: $7.95 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 1 Total Cost: $7.95 SKU: 300-14099-CZPT Item Name: CZP 300ZX Silicone Idle Air Hose Kit (AAC/IACV) - Twin Turbo Blue Cost: $43.99 Tax: 0.00 Quantity: 1 Total Cost: $43.99 ----------------------- Now cause the car has been nice to me I decided to treat her to some nice parts such as a ams pulley kit, twinZ type 1 spoiler from rob (as my stock one is rooted), clear ams timing covers from ezzupturbo, a new set of powdercoated cam covers and a new plenum and a greddy profec b boost controller. So basically the plan is to get the car running back on all 6 before rego is due in 6 weeks just heard that czp is sending my order out tomorrow stoked. Once this is all running and I have the cash ready... Engine pull and rebuild with forged everything.
damn that's looking good! i'll make you a deal. i'll do your whole plenum pull in exchange for those wheels. deal?
Hahahahahhahahaha no. We can put them on your car and you can take a few photos and pretend you live the Autostrata life for a bit But seriously feel free to come trains when the plenum pull is happening. And you might like this.. I'm getting all the gutter rash from previous owners taken out of them
Well my email from coz says that their shipping tomorrow so once everything comes in ill be organising that weekend to do it so it might be short notice.
More parts Scored some sweet stuff for the zed[/IMG] Silver one too so I'm cheering. And in driving up to Jamie's to pick up his plenum and cam covers for powdercoating
Yeah i do, going for the polished look, unfortunately I won't have it done in time for the plenum pull. Work is hanging me up for 6pm finishes and by the time I get home it's pretty much bed time and powdercoating is out of the option as I have no money left. But on other news. IT'S HERE IT'S HERE [/IMG] [/IMG] $2,000 worth of zeddy goodness. Plenum pull / timing belt next weekend Wondering if we can push it out in a day?
hahahahaha Needs coilovers next man! Do you have the modenas centre caps? It'd be a huge shame if you don't. Oh and happy to lend a spanner for the plenum pull if you need it.
Haha no worries man, yeah it's getting a set of tien's next. Unfortunately I don't have the centre caps. But I still like them how they are, gonna get them repaired sometime down the track. I'm happy for you to come down, bring some tools with you, can't hurt to have a few extra tools, might knock it over quicker. Add me pn Facebook as ill be putting people into a group convo tonight. https://m.facebook.com/#!/george.wartooth.5?fref=none&__user=616536189
Got my cam covers from Jamie, as soon as I got home I got to work... Started with this [/IMG] [/IMG] So I polished one cam cover but there is to many marks and scratches so they got a few coats of engine enamel and a coat of clear. Ended up like this. [/IMG] So while I was at it.. I alloyed the plenum. Started like this [/IMG] And ended like this [/IMG] I've ended up with enough enamel to do the water pipes when we take them off on Saturday. Lots of photos will be taken during the timing belt so stay tuned. Thanks guys.
Update Guess I should show everyone who's still interested what's been going on with the zed. Started with the timing belt and then I got rob and nem to do the plenum pull while I started changing crank & cam seals. [/IMG] The start [/IMG] [/IMG] Started pulling everything apart, removed the radiator and got to work on the timing covers. [/IMG] Removed the belt and replaced water pump and the idlers & thermostat. [/IMG] Then the plenum came off, rob got to work on the bypass. Unfortunately with the winter light it got dark around 5 pm so we had to pack up and call it a day. [/IMG] The intake covers off, took a look at the cams and they look like their holding up well for 200,000km. Everything was going smoothly, car was all lined up. Everything is going well....UNTILL the cam slipped off the lobe, had to put everything back together and re aligned it to top dead centre, then my brother tried pushing the car back as he dropped a bolt without realising the car was in 3rd and the crank spun a little. Spoke to a few mechanics and they've said it should be good even if it isn't a inference engine, they said the valves take a pretty hard hit to bend them. They just said put the crank bolt back on and turn the motor over by hand until the key way is right at the top, so I ended up changing crank and c seals, new rocker covers, half moon seals. The top end is getting a freshen up while the plenum is off. So this is what it looks like now, plus a pic of reselling the rocker covers. [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] So yeah that's it for now. Had a few people look at the engine and say its still in pretty good nick, even if the cam slipped off the lobe or the crank spun a little. They said it just needs to get re realigned and it'll be fine. Ill keep you updated on how things turn out. Until next time.
