I'd be disappointed because I've already spent the money on heads, exhaust, cooler ect.

    Fair point, smart move mate.

Exactly. If I were you, I'd try drive Andy's car on the track/drags and see how you like it, you've got the car sitting there so why not?

Personally I'd just drive the thing for 10 minutes down the road, but I can understand why you wouldn't.

Because then i've got the issue of getting the car to the track/drags.

I would too, given I could actually drive manual... But I can't :p

If you can't drive manual just get in the driver's seat and... drive manual

    that's how you learn

also, repainting andy's car is still a smarter option than swapping EVERYTHING over to yours... get andy's rego'd, sell your NA to pay for paint and bam, job done

It's not legal though, and I can't risk my licence any further.

I agree, but it doesn't fit under my budget. It's another 5-$8k that I don't want to fork out. The paint on my NA is good enough.

that really sucks about your license. have you considered simply picking up a daily, flogging off the NA and using the money for rego/paint on andy's? I know you're keen but I guarantee you when you're standing in an empty engine bay, half covered in oil and bleeding from at least fourteen places it's going to go through your head "****, this is actually really, really hard".

I've been given until the 9th of January till' I lose it. But i'm taking it to court and going for a section 10. My solicitor thinks i've got a good chance of winning.

I continuously get suggestions saying to buy a shitter, but I couldn't bare selling my Z off. Remember how you referred to it like your "first born"? Well now I can relate to that. I love driving my Z and couldn't possibly go without driving one for over 2 years. Plus I then have the issue of having to insure, rego the shitter and then try and get rid of it when the time comes.

As to repairing Andy's, it's too much work. There are numerous panels that have been bogged over, which means i'd have to fork out more to get straight body panels. Regardless of the path that I choose, either way the engine is going to come out, i'll have to degrease and completely strip the engine (if I were to go with the respray route). So wouldn't it seem right to just put the TT engine into my NA with paint that i'm happy with, rather then go to the extent of completely stripping and degreasing the engine bay of Andys car?

Just my opinion, completely open to others views also.

Yeah I'd almost agree, however it's a bit like me selling the purp z and respraying the green one... Except you don't even want white lmao.

I'm happy with the colour my car is now. I'd love to respray it but the costs are huge.

I like GMG, but I LOVE Skyler Slade's 300 in the 96+model TK3. If I was to do it (in which i'm considering) i'd buy a clean shell and get it resprayed.

I seen andy's car and it needs alot of body work . I would pull the engime and bits out and wait till I find a really nice TT with blown motor .

Then transplant good bits and rego . Then you can get rid of the NA .

Personally at your stage in your driving career I would be happy with 300kw and just tidy everything up . Later on you can go nuts if you like and have more cashola :)

Exactly, mechanical items can be swapped and changed without much time/ cost, when compared to bodywork/ spraying

Thanks, glad to see that someone else agrees with me...

The only problem with going nuts later is the fact that i'd have to pull the engine again, and I just want to do it once and do it right. It's my daily so having it off the road for a rebuild isn't reasonable. Which is why I figured i'd grasp the opportunity now and be done with it.

Haha , doesnt have to be uberdoober for need to pull engine .

As daunting as it may seem once you have pulled engine a couple times it really isnt all that hard . Which is why I say to you that rather than break my back and rip my nuckles to get at things I would rather pull the engine and work on it in the open .

You will understand better when you get in the thick of it :)
