    LOL at the Subaru.

    I have a Ssangyong 2.3L NA 4 cyl petrol Auto 4WD that has a 2300KG towing capacity.
    Car also weighs 1900KGs.
    And it does tow the 2200KG caravan and 2000KG boat quite well, not at the same time though lol

    Don't forget to add the weight of the trailer when considering towing anything, and remember there are different types of tow bar you can get. A general purpose towbar is only suitable for a small boat or a box trailer, but to tow a car trailer or a caravan you need a serious towbar like a Hayman Reese rated to 3,000kg or more.

    If your car or tow bar aren't rated for the job you are doing then you will find your insurance cover might be inoperative if something happens.

    I have rented car trailers and moved Zeds a few times (Pajero 4WD and Hayman Reese) and every time the rental place has inspected my setup first before approving the rental. I guess there might be rental places out there who are a bit sloppy about checking the car, but they aren't really doing you any favours.
