    Hi Guys

Has anyone had good experiences or would recommend an interstate car transportation company??

Preferably with a door to door service and can load a pretty low Zed :D from Sydney to Dalby, QLD

    Thanks :zlove:

auto Trans. but if its low, they'll probably say you'll have to remove the front bar, which will then need to be shipped separately (they wont let it go IN the car :( )

or if it's just on the east coast.... just drive it. Every car and its owner needs at least 1 epic journey together :D

auto logistic. if your zed is lowered, they will charge around $300 more....google it and get a quote.

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

I'm sure HaylZ knows what is involved in driving up here, but she was asking for transport info.

Haylz, i had my old Zedsled transported from WA to Bris a few years ago and it cost about $900 fully insured and that when via Rail till Melbourne then on the back of a transport truck from Melbourne to Bris. So i'm sure you'll be able to get some lower prices. I went via TNT Logistics. I'll put some feelers out and try to find some pricing for you aswell. :zlove:

Have requested quotes from both Auto Trans and Auto Logistics... will let you know what they say...

Auto Logistics does ask specifically for the height of the car if it's lower than 13cm... i have no idea what mine would be or where you would measure it from.... i just put 8cm. that's how far the lowest point of my side skirt if off the ground...

My brothers Torana cost $560 from Melbourne to Brisbane, no complaints with thier service.

Our old Magna drove to sydney and back with just one blown tyre. Most people tick up a few thousand km's in a couple of weeks without even realising. But if you don't think your Z will make it then best off getting a transport company. Best of luck and make sure they do have insurance. Would RACQ cover it?

    Maybe

You could have the front bar removed and truck it both ways without any worrys or fit a set off standard shocks and springs to raise it up a little.

So, Auto Logistics have quoted me $1492  door-to-door. this includes the levy of "specialised" transport cos my car is too low.

So... new plan. Driving it up on a car trailer....

I have never towed a car, (or even driven a trailer for an extended period of time!!)

woud i be able to tow a car trailer with a Subaru Forrester (are there weight limitations?)

How hard is it to tow a car? Want honest opinions here, will it be a crazy mission for me to tow a car trailer up by myself???

You need something with a 2 tonne towing capacity babycakes. A 4cyl forrester isn't going to be able to pull a zed on a trailer up the hills.

I took an empty trailer from sydney to the hunter on the back of a 2.5L mondeo an that was hell, used about 25L/100km and barely made it up the hills. The suby won't do it.

Towing is fine, just dont travel at road speeds, travel 10km under is a general rule of thumb, allow more than 2-3 seconds between cars, a forrester should be able to, have a look at your drivers side door Sill , it should say how much you can tow, or your manual book/or tow bar)

dude, the 2.5L NA forrester as a towing capacity of 2000lbs, which is just over 900kg, won't make it. The auto will cook and you'll be lucky to make it up mt white. The 2009 2.5L Turbo will haul 4000lbs, which is 1800kg, which is borderline.

Andy is 100% correct. Alternate plan suggested via PM. :zlove:
