Arashi, have you posted these designs to any other forums? If so, what was your feedback there?

See everything that is bolded? Throw that all in the bin and just put 100% into your Vigor kit. Once that is done, take some nice pictures of the car and post it on car forums and see if there is any interest. If you do, then start making replicas of them. If there is no interest, then call it a day and move on. You will still have a unique zed at the end of the day.

Before anything else, get a freakin job and save money. This is the reason you havent produced anything yet because you have no money. The second thing you need to do, is stop re inventing the wheel with methods on creating body kits. Admit to the fact that you dont know anything in this field (as I dont) and take some advice. Ask questions, watch youtube vids and see how its done. Watch video's of how fibreglass subwoofer boxes are made. It will give you some insight as to the work needed to fibreglass something.

This'll be my last post on this thread. I think it's worth keeping as there's some very valid critical analysis happening. Arashi has enough feedback to decide on the next steps by himself. I genuinely want to see it at its next stage in evolution

    Here's a few things I learned:

    - Red X made a good point at the start of this thread. The VigorousZX soundtrack includes the words "leave it alone" right at the end of the video. That has to be one of the most ironic choices of song ever.
    http://www.youtube.com/user/VigorousZX#p/u/4/tl0Iqq24nmo

    - I honestly don't think Arashi set out to troll when he posted on all of the forums. Unfortunately for him, the general response has been negative (not all of it constructive though). Here's a post from nicoclub with a very similar reaction:
    http://forums.nicoclub.com/yay-or-na-t436960.html

    - If you want tips on building a paper mache 300zx or tin foil 300zx, Google ranks this particular aus300zx thread as the number 1 resource now. There is no finer authority on building your bodykit out of kindergarten quality materials.

This thread was a source of artistic / engineering / marketing debate for some and entertainment for others. Parts of it went to Wrong Town very quickly. Good luck Arashi. I hope to see you at the next bbq

When I was still at high school I made a pact with my best friend (at the time) that if either of us ever grew a mustache then the other one was allowed to kill them.

That point is completely irrelevant to this post, much like most of the other replies.

Sounds like there's more to this mustache story.... :D

Just at Nico with neutral comments on the design

Problem is I dont get out to my build site much specially now that its cold and rainy... but its almost coming to completion.
For now I will definitely stick to the basics, finish the car, and sell it one by one.

Before I start the wide-body kit, Ill have to find the widest possible setup available without modifying the suspension.

I specifically left that in so that no budding entrepreneur would get the idea of making his own body kit... since no amateur will be as skilled as me, all that would be left is a scared Z.

Thanks cru1sr, maybe next time you can set me up with one of your lady friends :)

you do know that without modifying the suspension.... it is as wide as it can go now.....yes?

I have no knowledge on it, I thought the widest (10'?) wheels and possibly at most a one inch spacer would bring it out lots without modifying anything. It wont be until next year anyway.

Yeah.. too bad it needs the lights to be made bigger, and stops the hatch from being functional.

thats not a wide body... thats a flared guard lol

Ill have to learn about suspension geometry one day... I just hope the rear wheel setup alone doesnt cost more then 5k.
Im pretty confident the hatch can be made to open again, even the wiper refitted. The taillights would just get cut and stretched in the middle... it may need a new black plastic housing and it could lose the top section but still doable.

The real issue is that you've moved the lights "up and back" in your photoshop. What you should do is re-photoshewwp it without resizing, moving, stretching, or modifying the the tail lights at all in respect to the rest of the car. You've caused the lights to be about ~ 10% larger, and what looks to be 2-3 inches higher and further back, which would put them (in respect to a real car) half way through the lip of the rear spoiler. You can't just modify things as you please in photoshop and assume it would equate to a reasonable change when taking into account a real car. You're talking about modifying the rear of the chassis, not just sticking a kit onto the rear of car.

You need to start realising that these photoshops don't help you. If you are serious, and not a raging cock of a troll (which I believe you are), you need to make the changes practical and affordable. Remember that in the US/CAN these cars only cost $3000 or so on average, so nobody will really be willing to spend $20,000 putting a heavy kit on to it, particularly if it's made of fibreglass (or, newspaper) which isn't the most resilient or pretty material.

Oh, and actually listen to advice.

As long as the Zeds dimensions fall into the Astons, it should work. Sure photoshop isnt accurate buts pretty close to how things will turn out.

That is why Im making a replica next... Im hoping this will fund my toy widy body kit in the future.

The dimensions DON'T match, and the fact that you physically moved the lights into a position they don't normally exist in is somewhat indicative of the fact that it is NOT somewhat close to how it would turn out.

You need to get OTHER PEOPLE interested in spending ridiculous amounts of money. That's where the problem lies.

    a replica what?

if its a replica it will look like the original... putting 10 supercar ideas onto a zed isnt a replica

The headlights are independent from the chassis, even the wires can be extended for it to be relocated anywhere in the rear. You see whole fiberglass panels will insert or replace the existing body parts.

Im hoping my replica will make a good amount of cash to play with... this way I can make my Vigor car a wide body and since Im making the panels for a Zed, I will also make copies to adapt to stock Zeds. I wont need sales to make up for my losses. I firstly want the wide body for my self.

The Aston One-77, I have a perfect donor lined up with the exact dimensions and windshield curve. The donor itself will cost me around 10-15k if I buy it from the states. Coupled with the kit, the starting price will be around 30k+ for a "turnkey".
