HyperGear ATR25 Build up and Evaluation thread

    Well the turbos are made. Major testing is done. This car was imported solely for this purpose so it now has very little value to us. We are moving on to RB25 and RB26 turbochargers next year.

    Car's priced at $25G which leaves me plenty of time to hunt for bigger injectors and it seems no one's got them. I would want to see how this car run at full potential of the ATR25 turbos before letting it go.

    Just so u guys know the side skirts on that car are trust or tbo style. I got a set of these from japan back 3 years ago they are pretty good.. Id post pics but my car is stripped for respray will post them in a couple of weeks or so

    As for hitec ecu.. They are a better product and have some good customer support I bought mine in 04 and still need a new tune just don't have the time but I do know they will help me out regarding this as the emails I sent back then to bob @ hitec said they can do this no worries highly reccomended..

    I certainly hope that you do in fact put the proper injectors and test it again. As it stands now, this "demo" zed has NOT been tested properly as you haven't had the appropriate supported mods for your turbos. It would be dissapointing if you've come this far to show us how good your turbos are, to pull up and sell it before putting a set of $800 injectors in it to show their FULL potential.

    Like i said, i really hope you finish this test Zed off properly. It could be the little step that reassures everyone here that these turbos can in fact kick ass on our cars for a great price.

    Just put a Aftermarket regulator on and turn the pressure up. Wouldn't bother with 555, i dont think you need them.

    Just to let yas all know. I got my 300 back with its problem fixed and tuned @ 17psi. I got 271rwkw. I'll post a dyno graph once I've scanned it. And Stao, I don't have stock injectors. I have 555's. I just don't want to push the car harder.

    Once the boost comes on, it's just straight linear power.

    Can you tell us the other mods done? Stock engine? Stock manifolds / single pod intake? Exhaust?

    It's pretty much a stock engine with just some ARP bolts, full balance, metal headgaskets and some port cleaning. Stock cams, manifolds etc.

    Mods are pod filter, full 2.5" exhaust, lightened flywheel and UDP, 555 Injectors, Nistune and FMIC. That's all for performance mods.

    Also few little updates.
    We have managed to make a small adaptor plate for the passenger side turbo so it the stock intake pipe no longer needs fabrications to fit.

    We also managed to make .64 and .86 turbine housings to suit the 300ZX's stock 4 bolt dump pattern, with .60 compressor. We now can make ATR25 in .64 or .86 turbine with .60 compressor using Atr28G1 (350HP) G2 (450HP) G3 (480HP) and G4 (520HP) CHRAs for any one who don't mind lag.

    so with these new CHRA's what power estimates are we looking at...are you going to trail these aswell???

    also another question...
    these turbos that you trailed were the 320hp version and got 273.4rwkw ...
    and member 'akiezm' with 280hp version got 271.9rwkw...

    i know your car hasnt got upgraded injectors and all but i thought the bigger version(s) should pump out alot more power than that...just wondering how the 320hp version isnt in the 300rwkw area

    the injectors are running at their peak.. he cannot go any higher its like badxtc's car

    even with all his mod's, about a year ago at RE dyno night he couldnt crack 300 with his injectors because apparently they where running at their peak.

    or someone needs to try out the 520hp versions :D

    6500rpm.........boost.......change gear and repeat lol

    I’ve been told by Maztec and XTC that they can get 300rwkws with stock Z32 injectors at around 12.8 AFR. Not sure how safe that would be on road. Detected a faulty O2 sensor fault at ZShop, car pulls heaps harder now.

    I'm build a pair of 480HP Turbos for Jeff at Zshop. This is a GT3076 52T spec sleeve bearing turbo. Result should be very interesting to see its result.
