    yep ... i looked at a beautiful j-spec, t/t on the

weekend for an interstate member .. purchased from a private seller in japan and complied 2 years ago ... 2000 kms only in last two years .. and a quoted 66,000kms on the speedo ...

.. the overall condition of the vehicle, engine bay, interior, duco really does suggest that the mileage is genuine .. and i reckon that i am the most cynical of all members as regards j-spec speedo readings ...

.. just could be that a member will own this lovely beastie in the near future .... just wish it was me ...!!!

Mines a '90 Aussie delivered with about 260,000km on the clock & a lovely set of log books showing its history. Runs great, only dramas have been an afm, battery & some crap on the electrical connections.

When I was buying in '04 i looked at one with 310k km...

    cheers, tim

Mine has 210,000, 93 TT Auto. She had 89,000km when I bought her 3.5 years ago so she has averaged 34,000k /year.

Still on the original engine, transmission, diff, turbo's blah blah and boosted to 14psi max.

She hasnt had an easy life, but she has had one hell of a lot of fun, laughed at my abuse and been well cared for in return..

Zeds rock, they really do :zlove: :zlove: :zlove: :zlove:

omg caz....u really go around town....lol.......
and on top of that you race her around right....and your still doing okay..............

wouldnt u need to replace alot of stuff and spend alot of $$$ to be able to race a zed now and then....maybe zx2nv might give some insight to this aswell

    BigCol That's what she said...

90 Aus spec, 183,000kms. Runs really well, and still feels strong. The only real issue i've had was stock standard zed issues (a buggered Det sensor, and a stuffed radiator which precipitated a fairly hefty repair bill for bolt on preventative maintenance & parts).

So judging by the responses, the VG engine (at least in na guise) is at least good for above 200,000km if well maintained :zlove:

I have a jspec NA auto with 87,000kms stated on the clock (bought it 10months ago with 75,000kms). I cant say about its life in japan...but the guy who i bought it off only drove it 8,000kms in the last 4years!!! it was his 5th car:D

I was skeptical at first, but now im tempted to believe its genuine...Interior and exterior is pretty much spotless, and I haven't had any trouble at all so far. Still runs like a dream after almost 1 year!

Bought my TT 2yrs ago with only 68,000 on the clock, and had only been in Aus for 1 year before I purchased it, and was in very good condition too.
So i'm thinking the k's on it were genuine.

Had gearbox recond couple mths after I bought it then brakes done, fuel pressure regulator, idlying pulley, p/steer belt, radiator, servicing, now just about to do 100k service :)

Drives like a dream, Just gotta love zeds :zlove: :D

The racers overhaul & maintain often

As far as I know guys like zx2nv think nothing much of removal & recon of an engine.
Many of the racers fully service components like brakes every race meet.
So I dont know that theyre such a true comparison, then again they give the cars a hard time out on the track im sure.

The drift car caz sponsored wasnt reliable enough, has a holden motor now.

    191000 and counting

But its only 90,000 on this engine, and trans has been serviced too.
I think this car has spent a lot of its life running on 15psi!!!
Still running well though, had some maintenance issues when i got it, sorted now for another hundred thou I hope.

Why not, its a 3 liter v6 auto after all.

    4 seater
    Full import
    dead stock........... done 177,000K's

Minor electrial issues has been the only problem to date, motor is sweet and untouched, auto is starting to slip a bit more than it should.

    1990 TT
    2 seater
    Full import
    Modified ................ done 153,000K's

Again a few minor electrial issues but nothing major.
Only major drama has been controling the boost levels it develops...... see avatar !!!

The 4 seater is my daily driven car and has a full history, I've even got pics from the original female jap owner of her and the car in Japan.
The 2 seater is a w/end warrior and is my 'play toy', its currently being modified even more and getting a facelift at the same time. The mods to this car were all done prior to importing and I have all the receipts even tho they are written in japanese! The mods commenced when the engine had 18,500K's on it

1990 aus-spec N/A has 115k on the clock. Havent had the 100k service yet. Only problems ive had/got with it since i bought it on 105k are:

Slave cylinder had a leak. Needed replacing.
Crankshaft seal is broken, thus a minor oil leak. (havent fixed it since i bought it)
Had a front bushel of some sort replqaced because it was cracked.

    thats it :)

body issues from the age of it are mainly damaged rims and waterproofing seals sun-damaged.

Yeah, I have a 1990 A-Spec NA with 200,6xx. Just done its 200,000 service, everything was nice, with a few squeeks. Needed new tyres turns out they were wearing oddly, so went to pedders for a checkup of the suspension, found out I need to replace a lot of bushes, my diff is on the way out and my LHS steering rack is 'loose' lol, so sourcing parts atm, but my suggestion for those who want to be sure, go to Pedders, costs $14 for a 28-point check, in and out within the hour...easy!

All these parts are expected for the cars age, so Im not concenred, dont like the idea of forking out the money, but best to do it right and ASAP so you dont damage the rest of the car :)

    Cheers, Andrew

Maintenance, love and money have and will keep her together and soon hopefully soon anyways she'll be back to former glory and then some. :)
