Just wondering how many k's V30det is good for.

We all know the k's on imports are wound back, but Im looking at purchusing a Aus Delivered with close 200000km on the clock, the guy dosnt know if the 100km service has been done... So first thing is to get the 200k kms service done, which bring me to my main question - Who has a Z with 200k kms or there abouts on it? and does it still feel strong?

I have not test driven the car yet but will in the next few days. I think with seeing all these imports with less than 100k kms on them kind of puts you off of the other end of the scale... although we know they are not honest numbers! lol

Interested to see how many ks everyones car has done!
(I think it was done recently but couldnt find it in search)

I have a '90 Ausspec that's done 190,000 kms. I bought it with 103,000 kms over 5 years ago. Motor runs sweetly, uses no oil etc etc. I change the oil religiously every 5,000 ks. It had the 100,000 k service done just before I bought it.

If it has been looked after, 200,000 kms is not that much for a NA IMO.

    Cheers,

    Peter

Mine's a '90 J-Spec NA with 140,000km on the clock... I find it hard to believe that over the 17 years since it left the factory it's averaged just over 8000 km's per year.
Judging by the amount of parts I've replaced due to wear and tear I'd assume that it's done over 200,000kms on it but the thing is, the engine doesn't burn any oil so I'm guessing it may have had an engine change or rebuild whilst still in Japan (it's only been in AUS since early 2005 so don't think it was rebuilt whilst here).

128,000kms for mine. bought it @ 110,000kms. bog stock everything with original targa bags and manual.

when i bought it had worn shocks and brake rotors. hardly anything else needed fixing so i'm almost tempted to believe they are genuine KMs :p

    1991 N/A, auto, j-spec .. purchased locally at 97k ..

.. currently 124k on the clock ... burns no oil at all ...replaced tailshaft, h/p power steering hose and heater core .. had the 100kkm service done plus the p/pull and associated hoses job and full auto service and flush .... runs like a dream ....

no idea of the "real" mileage ...

Search on twinturbo.net and you'll find

plenty of 200K mile odometer reports. As with any car, it's not the number of kays, but rather how the car was treated.

Thrashing, overboosting, oil and cooling system neglect all contribute to early failure. The VG30DETT is a tough engine and should be just as reliable as any falcadore if treated well...

Although yours may have been wound back, they CAN average those low KM's.

My first Z was a 1991 Aus-Spec manual. Although I cannot remeber exactly, it was around 129,000km at the time that I purchased it. It had One owner, KM verified by log books, as was servicing. :zlove:

So although most J-Specs have been wound back, if the car was used solely as a weekender/non-daily driver, low to mid 100,00km can still be a realistic figure.

i did not wind it back :p :D when i got the car 4 years ago it had 45000ks and mechanicly & cosmeticly it proved that it was a very low ks vehicle and that the ks could very well be genuine thats why in the last 4 years i never had a single problem and the only time i have taken the car to a mechanic was for a brake fluid flush ;) but then again in the last 4 years i have done less then 10000ks on it  :bash: :D

should of done a poll.....mines done around 109.....TT....

im no judge to say if its proper or not.....but as i had a soarer that had done 170k and was a little more worn out ie the carpet, the zed kms might be true....only thing that makes it not look new is the cracking of leather, but the carpet is like new, rubbers outside worn etc but that maybe due to age and weathering.....so like i sed hard to tell....

I was meant to do a poll but, Explorer crashed while i was doing it and by the time I got back online it was too late to edit!! lol oh well.

Some high k's on some Z's ticking over 300k's in some cases!

I would think, being realistic, alot ofe imports would be around the 200k km range by now, all though the speed tells a different story.

It does depend on how the car has been treated, and I hope this one has been serviced regularly, including the 100k service, if not its long over due! haha.

I pulled my engine down after 130k because of a bent rod and there were only small amount of wear. Mind you it is an NA which is not under as much stress as a TT. Looked after i think 300k would be reasonable for these engines
