That is more the sort post-awards "trophy" action I would have expected from the driver of a black car with a boot full of trophies !!!!

Great Newsa Tim and Doug !!!

Happy you both are safe & sound !!

No one deserves the amount of bad Karma (shit) you've had so far. :( Having said that, "Aren't country folk fantastic!!" As I understand it, one Coonabarabran member who has a 300ZX is lending you one of their normal road wheel's so that Tim (BAROO) who had a rim fail - a spoke crack, can get back to MLB.

It was very good to catch up with both of you and I'm really glad you had no dramas on the return journey. As always when the Vic's and ACT'er get together there's only good feelings. It was also the first time I had seen the BAROO mobile, and, without the ROO-dent. Tim, your car has a hell of a lot going for it!!!!

Look forward to catching up next time.

    Cheers,

    Petere

Indeedy Pete. A huge :thumbsup::thumbsup: for the country folk

Whilst driving to coona one of my 5 spoke stockies decided to part with one spoke rendering itself useless with a further 300+ kms to travel. Chuck on the donut and dawdle through some lovely flowing bends and great roads only to be shamed by a school bus full of kids overtake me en route.

Anyway cut a long story short Easter Saturday morning ask all tyre/dealer stores if they have a rim to suit. Despite their best efforts:) No luck.:angry: Seem resigned to the fact I have to drive back to melbourne on space savers. Generously Wokburner lends me his full size spare to use for the cruise and weekend. Big Thank you!

Wake up Sunday morning clean 4 months of crap off the car and during this Red32 (my Dad) has organised a fix to get home:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Now this is where I can't say Thank you enough but I'll try. An extremely, extremely generous new member local to coona, Rachael Khoudry (sp) has donated to me a stock rim off her car so I could get home in the meantime taking her car off the road until I freight it back to her with a special thank you present.

This could only happen in such a place and is why we all come together and travel such long distances just for a few (ok many) drinks and many stories to share.

One very gracious and thankfull zedder.

    Couldn't sleep last night...

too quiet without the 'MAX FACTOR'

Did manage to steal his last can of Cougar though. He won't miss it will you Max?

My last minute flat tyre was a mystery as once it was pumped up it held pressure all the way home:wacko::wacko:
Thanks to Caz for lending me her air compressor - just glad I didn't need it in the end.

Still yet to explain to my wife why I've come home with 3 ladies addresses written on a pink napkin with a big pink lipstick kiss (Thanks Ellie!)

An uneventful drive home although no 98 octane to be found in Gunnedah, Tamworth or Armidale had to get by with 95RON:(

    What a blast of a weekend:zlove::zlove:

Will post up some pics when I've found my camera - it's in the car somewhere.

Thanks to everyone for making my weekend very special.

Nobody on here sleeps do they?

We've just had a huge weekend and driven for ages and now we will spend a few hours on the forum :wacko:

Well I've had a nice kip and can safely say that I had a brilliant weekend. Thanks to everyone for making it so good.

I would like to say that due to my poor concentration I may have "zoned out" while people were talking to me or maybe even just wandered off whilst you were still talking. If this happened to you - no offense intended - it is just me and my special ways.

It was brilliant to see most of the people that I saw last year and to meet a few more. I would really like to spend some quality time with you guys rather than just a weekend but such is life.

I'll take a look at my photos soon but I don't think I've got much that Peter hasn't posted already.

P.S. Sorry Benny for the bumpy roads but it was stop-start on the Bruce H'Way according to the news so it was probably just as well.

    Home safe and sound...

Got home about 4ish, was actually a really good run home - i expected more traffic.

Once i got home and unpacked all my stuff, put on a load of washing, i decided to go out and get a few groceries, just the essentials, bread, milk etc... pulled out of my driveway and saw up ahead there was green arrow on the traffic light (Coona had let me experience the real power of my car which had previously had been undiscovered) so, i put my foot down, got through the lights on the orange.... cruising along... see red and blue flashing in my rear mirror... DAMN IT!!! got done, 84 in a 60 zone, double demerits = 6 points!! after crusing over 1000 k's, i get done practically outside my house.

Oh well, didn't ruin my weekend!! It was awesome meeting everyone. You are all the greatest bunch of people i have ever met! So supportive, helpful and kind! Thanks for everything and looking forward to seeing you all SOON!!!

    ENNNNGGGAAAHHHHHH!!!!!:LOL::LOL::LOL:

My zed barely missed a beat all weekend even tho she's never had a workout like that (since being in Aus at least). Thanks to the nice policeman who booked me on the way down for 'almost' overtaking him over solid lines - even tho it was the trouble maker 90ttz they were after!!! Thanks Karl!!!

I can't wait for the next gathering now!!!

    Home safe

arrived home around 7ish, very heavy police presence on the road from Goondiwindi to Rockhampton, everything from cameras to diesel four wheel drives. Last few K into town it started to rain it seems we have another cyclone in the area.

Great weekend see you all again some day y

Oh Noooo!!!! Sorry to hear about the 6 points Hayles! :(

Hope it didn't hurt you too much.

Great meeting you too mate! You have a really tidy Zed - and between lowering it and bolting on those sweeeeet rims, it just tops it off.

I would seriously suggest someone with the footage from Saturday night send a copy to Hayles because i'm sure she still has many 'blank spots' to fill in from the night... ;););)

Hayley, you cracked me up soooo much. I'd hit the piss with you any day mate, that "ngengaaa" night hurt my mouth so much from laughing - and mainly due to you.

This Coona trip has topped my favourite weekends list by a long shot!!!

yep, met with another on the way home...

For those who weren't there, I was lucky enough to have an encounter with a roo on the way to coona. It jumped out at me at 130 clicks and I just managed to swerve enough so that it head-butted the passanger door (much to the surprise of my sleeping brother ) rather than the front of the car.

[I'll post pics of this one later]

On the way home I had to dip my high beams for a car at one point. just after it had passed and before I had a chance to raise them again (ie I could only see for a few meters in front of me) there was suddenly a big lump of roo road-kill sitting square in the middle of the road. It managed to fit under the front bar bottom engine covers but once it got to the gearbox cross member it literally exploded all over the tail-shaft and rear subframe including my exhaust .

The smell is the most vial thing I have encountered for a while

Just a small sample of the mess

Apart from that, it was the best weekend I've had in ages. You've all got me hooked and I'll be back for sure.

    Cya next time!!
