Yes European cars use KKK turbos. Audi/VW/Porsche and others. Says something about there quality if those manufactures use them!
Drift Team Peer use the KKR's I think as they had the stickers on there drift cars at Autosalon. They are German I think (correct me if I am wrong)
variable vane? Can you explain a bit better what this is and what it does? Sounds like it varies the fins on the turbo but is this to replace a wastegate or help with spool?
The new generation diesel navaras have em I think too. They basically start at a closed vane and as the load increases they open up more to increase airflow. The idea is they can hold consistent boost and have nearly no lag at all because they are always running its a pretty clever idea but bucklies of fitting them on a zed though as the system is quite bulky and takes up space on the turbo itself.
Z1675 turbos This kit depends on the type of driving you do with your car. I drive Z cars everyday with the different set ups. This weekend I was driving one with the 4.10 leader gears installed. The turbos are waking up faster then before, but there is not much lag with this set up. If you need more power go with the 725 kit. We laid down 880rwhp with Russell's convertible with the 725 kit (with alot of extra parts). Both kits are bolt on, we have alot of time in making these kits fit properly. If you have any questions, just email me.
unless you fit it STS style! (at the back of the car) it sounds horrible but seems to work, don't need intercoolers unless running high boost, there was a camaro with 900 hp at the drags on the weekend with that setup.
Hey JT have you got a dyno graph ofthe pull and was that without the nitrous I imagine, overall an impressive result compared to the old TD06-20G setup
Where can I get Garret turbo's cheap? I just wanna get this: http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_16&products_id=1548 And make my own kit and save about $1k+ in the process
KKR Turbos are made in China; click the link below for a bit of background. Once inside that link, click KKR at top left to look at the range. http://www.otomoto.com.au/about.htm KKK has been around much longer, is made in Germany. Can only presume that "KKR" was chosen as a brand name to try and get some marketing rub-off from the "KKK" name. I can't see any connection between the two.
Racespec have some pretty decent prices on turbos, as do horsepowerinabox and some other nissansilvia.com sponsors. worth a look.
Gt 2560 garretts at Tweakit are a decent low price. Although its not clear which off the 2560 range at Tweakit, has the inconel turbine wheel, like the GT2560R - 466541- 4 in the garrett link. http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT25/GT2560R_466541_4.htm http://www.tweakit.net/shop/index.p...rrett_turbos&gclid=CLGs6bSK84kCFSO6YAodqwhxEw
You're right about that GT28R price - but I can get the RS cheaper elsewhere I haven't made up my mind which turbo I want
The ones we are working on are the GT2871RS turbos with .64 or .68 rear housings full banjo and earls motorsport fittings and hoses in light weight material braide. The GT2871RS kit standard should come in around the 4k mark or under all said and done bolt on and use all existing turbo pipework. This is being put together locally to save on the hassle of trying to ultimately fit a lot of peices together from various sources. There will also be options such as HKS rear rear housings etc. Might pay to hold off for a few weeks as mentioned and at least evaluate the deal once its finalised Cheers Jason
We checked out the slotcar on the hoist today and I think we will have stuff all chance of fitting in the wastegate pipe and eternal gate etc with such a large frame turbo, the clearance between the 28RS and the chassis rail is like 30mm. the water line could be reworked slightly but would only gain another 5 mm or so maybe enough to run a Tial 40mm gate but will have to see. Also the lads in the know are working on a siamese twin style dual pipe dump pipe in 3 inch to suit and also trying to source some funky looking AAE manifolds from the US as the MS manis are still no go the AAE ones do not require port matching of the heads and feature a largish expansion chamber which helps flow greatly overall the outflow the MS manis when averaged and should be a lot cheaper too especially if we can do a GB on them too. Its all happening Ali I want mine ASAP too
Sorry, I'm John. JT is the sales rep. I do have a Dyno graph, but the one we recorded has wheel spin. But I'll show it to you anyway This dyno run is with Mike Smith Manifolds and a gang load of other parts.
