    So uas

    will handel the sale of whatever turbo package kit, option, they come up with? Will gcg build and supply to uas only after an order is placed? or do uas intend to have said turbo package kit, option whatever that may be, ready for sale?

    It all depends on the options chosen Beaver. We are working on as stated GT2540R, GT2860R, GT2860RS and the newer GT2871RS kits as a baseline.

    All kits will come ready to bolt onto a zed with no or minimal mods required for fitment and imagine they would have a short lead time. The turbos are the same its just the actuator brackets, lines, gaskets, comp cover adaptors etc that will need to be supplied with the kits. At most I would say if GCG had the correct turbos in stock that lead time would be a week or two max for the standard range

    Custom jobs such as HKS rear ext gate housings with T3 wheels etc etc etc will naturally be longer

    These are some of the finer details yet to be discussed and finalised so the above post is a generalisation not a quote.

    These kits will be a good thing for the Aussie 300zx market

    I just hope that all this work being carried out by yourself and UAS as well as GCG dont go the drain due to not being competitive with Z1 and Coz prices and quality.

    If it works out the same price or less than i would say you'll get the buyers.

    Your post below must be a typo, can you confirm please?

    As to the above bit in bold, about a generalisation, nope, i'm after a quote please - i may use it to make a purchase within the next week or so - i've been getting quotes from numerous places and a quote from our new major turbo supplier would be beneficial for both of us. If you could also get the quote on the GT28RS, then I'd appreciate that (since it's either the GT28R or the GT28RS that I'm eventually going to go for).

    Just 2 turbo's please, no gaskets, no lines, no kits, just the turbo's. No clocking - since I'll be removing the turbine housing to get it ceramic coated, what's the point? Isn't clocking simply loosening some bolts, rotating the housing, and then re-tightening? I have a socket set, I can do that myself, thanks.

    As I said in a previous post within this thread, I'm going to purchase this at $200USD:

    So now you can understand, all I simply want are turbo's - no gaskets, no lines, thanks :)

    im a bit more confused now

    See below:
    S15=GT28R=GT2560R not the GT2860R
    JWT 530BB =GT2554R
    GT2860R = See below.
    GT2860RS=JWT 700BB (Disco potato)

    So the old GT28R became the GT2560R
    What did the old GT28RS become? GT2860R or GT2860RS? if its the RS then where does the GT2860R fit in the mix?

    And what matches up with what in the Z1 range of kits?

    Thats cool Mattz and I understand that you think you are saving some dollars and you may well do but seriously all the running around and hassling you are going to do may not be worth it. The Z1 hose kit is okay but not great quality when the hoses where inspected by GCG the pressed fittings used on the braided hose is average at best and uses average fittings etc.

    For an accurate quote you need to let me know what style of comp cover you want i.e hose in or flange in. If its hose you want you will need custom engine mounts etc or if its flange you want you will need to get an adaptor made up to match the bolts centre to centre with the zeds factory intake pipes.

    I need to know what comp cover you want and what size rear housing you want. Also if you buy these things if the price is good be prepared that you will be up for a lot of work to get these to fit properly to a zed, there is more to it than most think.

    So let me know what you want and I can get a price for you.

    Okay TURBO NAMING 101

    Z1 / Garrett
    GT525 kit / Nil - rebuilt stockers
    GT600R kit / GT 2560R
    GT675RS kit / GT 2860RS
    GT725R / GT 2871R

    The old GT28RS is still the same turbo being the GT2860RS the GT2860R is the same turbo and only differs from the 2860RS as the 2860R doesnt have the same flow capabilities or surge protection zone like the 2860RS has and this is due to a design change on the comp cover.

    Yes

    These kits are being made by GCG exclusive to UAS correct. As Jason has explained with many options, and Australian warranty and advice as part of the service, which can be very valuable. They will be the best kit on the market with quality of machining and fittings and hoses, being motorsport quality Earls fittings and hoses, features and options. For those in Australia at least price also especially as a group buy.

    I'll go with flange in

    0.64A/R is standard on the GT28R, and is the option of my choice on the GT28RS

    thanks very much! :zlove:

    Wastegates and

    How do you plan on mounting wastegates which require smaller ones too?
    Then the turbo itself requires more than just clocking as the three bolt outlet and two bolt outlet are all wrong and require flanges to be made and machining etc. Oil and water feed not a biggy, it is the wast gate actuators brakets and extension rods that is a biggy as complex, unless you are a fitter machinist handiman with time.

    Thanks for your input John, let me try to clear this up.

    The wastegates require smaller what exactly?
    3 bolt outlets, 2 bolt outlets, are "wrong" for what? I already said I'm making my own intake piping, so i will design them to be "right".
    Wastegate actuator brackets - I don't see how they can be a "biggy". I'm not a fitter machinist handiman, i'm an engineer. And for some reason, I don't feel daunted by making a bracket.

    OK

    If you are making your own hoses for the comp cover as I said it is involved as you have to remove the alloy comp cover and tig weld long alloy pipes with reducers, to clear the engine mounts, as well as the exhaust manifolds as you can?t use silicon hose as turns to powder from heat. ? Even with heat shielding although can get away with it for short time, been there done that. Also has to clear power steering pump and then on drivers side air con compressor. If you take the time and have plenty of silicon hoses and bends and mandrel alloy bends and reducers, it is a better out come and why I did on my race car, but many many hours of work and parts. Unless you have time to burn you would be far better off buying the kit as economic suicide to make yourself, and no offence but would not be as nice and strong and exact angle as laser cut brackets for actuators etc.

    Actuator brackets for takes hours as nothing like factory as zeds are such a tight fit. Smaller actuators required which can be purchased no problem but not cheap. We will probably released kit to go with turbo's which many have and found not so easy to fit and sitting on the shelf at home. Cheaper and easier to buy the whole kit.

    I was just about to press send when I checked your post and noticed the link to the actuator mod which I checked out and very impressive and throrough. Not everyone has Mig ro Tig and ability to do this but sounds like coud be up your ally if engineer. If making flange to use factory inlet pipes much easier.

    Mattz GT2560R aka GT28R will cost $1090 plus freight each turbo. This is a bit of a prelim price still as the finalised kit hasnt yet been sorted and pricing negotiated. Thats where we are at so far

    Also what John is trying to say is the actual ancillary kit may be offered as a separate item to help those out who have purchased the bare turbos elsewhere such as the GB Tektrader did a while ago. The ancillary kit will have all the lines flanges etc necessary to take a stock Garrett turbo and adapt it to suit the zed, however this is in the early stages as well and nothing can be 100% verified as yet

    Thanks buddy for the price, could you also please get one for the GT28RS?

    Many thanks

    I thought you might so I was proactive

    GT2560R flange and .64 rears - $1090 each plus freight
    GT2860R flange with .64 rears - $1200 each plus freight
    GT2860RS flange with .64 rears - $1350 each plus freight

    Once again prelim stuff but still less than RRP and maybe a little more room once negotiations are finalised with the kits

    Cheers
