    stock turbos

will this unit be ok with stock turbos and also will it work with HUGE turbos?, i wouldn't mind a boost controller now and intend to get one when i build my motor, but basically i don't want to buy 2 so if it will do both jobs, i am in
    cheers

    for a black one

    thanks beaver

also, does it require an aftermarket ecu or will the stock Z one be fine?
    cheers,
the link would be good, i haven't read much on boost controllers yet

    Link here

You wont have to splice into the ecu with this ebc bhp, it works fine with the stock ecu! or a/m.

Thx for the Link Beav - Heaps of info

Will speak with Jason from Greenline to confirm price and numbers, then see if UAS can match. Will Ask Jason if he can send to everyone individually so we can avoid GST, and shipping wont be to much more then just shipping to me, so we are looking at $350 plus one postage of 30 to 35 all up... will keep you all posted.

I tried to look for some specifications on this unit and had lots of trouble. If anyone can tell me how this unit regulates boost pressure specifically i would be happy.

I am after this particluar unit due to the facr that several tuners have claimed its the best by far and easiest and or smoothest to set up. ALL electronic boost controllers (even manual ones actually) require tuning and a dyno is invaluable for obvious reasons, such as knowing at what setting you've just set it... ie you need more then one data point to check what your doing is correct.

    BASICS
Don't get a boost controller confussed with any sort of gadget.. its a very basic mechanical piece, just that now a days they get technically and make things electronic so you can changing it on the spot rather then have to turn a knob on the unit itself under the hood.

Some people just install welding jet nosils into the boost line and have a permenant increase in boost pressure. The unit basically is installed between the vac lines and read the boost pressure and adjust accordingly through solinoids etc.. VERY BASIC, i have no electronic skills what so ever, i only work on engines, but it should work with ANY turbo and ANY ECU, they are unrealated in that respect. NOTE Unit goes to 42psi and the most i have ever seen on full race spec cars is around the 25's to 30's... even Indy Cars run 33PSI so can't see you ever needing more then 20 ? unless your planning on running a race spec car ?

    ok for BHP and AADOR

all this thing does is to increase boost, basically its controlled by an electronically controlled solenoid valve, in that, once the preset boost pressure is hit, it pressurises the acctuator lines (opens the wastegates). these are far far better than "manual boost controllers", (bleed valves, "jet nosils") etc etc. they work by bleeding off boost pressure in the acctuator lines so the acctuators open when the boost pressure in those lines is eg 7psi, when infact, the whole system pressure is like 12psi. the problem with these is that the gain (rate of boost pressure increase) is really shithouse and it acctually causes a constant boost leak (lose power).

with the electronic stuff, you can set the pressure where the solenoid opens up (opens wastegates) and what gain etc, and you can even preset a boost spike. (larger gain, larger spike...smaller gain, smaller spike) so find the happy medium that you want.

these controllers can work with any turbo on any turbo car, they arent connected to the ecu in any way, and are therefore really easy to install and opperate.

    anyone unclear with this description?

this GB is a bloody good price, i was acctually considering spending nearly $600 for a blitz controller, when infact they do the same thing...

Man these Group buys are going to be the death of me.....

I'll put my name down as a maybe.... all depends on when you need the cash. And if it's going to be in the very near future i suppose that's what parents are for... borrowing money!! Might have a friend who may be interested also, will let you know :D

    Cheers

    Adrain, I'm interested...

But not 100% sure at this stage. I'm having troubles with my current EBC. If I'm too late and the buy goes ahead, no worries.

But if I can't find out what's wrong with my EBC, & decide this is the unit I'd like to replace it with, I'll let you know ASAP.

    Cheers,
    Jono

hmm I've got a turbotech manual boost controller, bit different to bleed valve but do you think that's why my dyno run showed boost drop from 13.5 down to 11 and running rich? I dunno what stock A/F should be, yeah it should be fairly rich but mine was down to 10:1 near end of run.

    Currently in Fremantle - Perth

Hey guys, this GB will be getting underway very soon. Looks like we have good numbers already so i will confirm figures with John and get deposit details underway most probably this weekend as it is hard for me to get internet in the Office in Perth at the moment.

Just working out final GST details... between the GST and postage its a nightmare working out price, so i am in touch with people getting final figures, and now with good numbers can't see us not getting the price i was initially qouting. Will keep you posted as soon as possible.

    Final Price and List

OKAY... Confirmed Price with Greenline delievered to your door for $389 for any purchase of 10 or more. Sending PM to John at UAS to see if he can match and provided us with an Australian contact if we have fitting problems

Since the delievery will now be to your door, i will have to ask for full deposits unfortunately instead of half deposits like i was initially going to. I have to pay for them in full upfront, so require full payment before i order one for you, will again let you know exactly when i need the cash when i work out details with John. Do realise it can be hard to come up with that sort of cash all at once, but i have also been through it many times myself what with single piece tailshafts from the US and lots of hard $$$ hitting GB in the past. Hey i warned you all, GB send you broke. So sorry if its bad timing for some, but promise will not ask for funds off you until the last possible second before i pay for them all in full myself.

I assume if John can't get GReedy to match that price directly we are all still happy with Greenline. Must say Justin has giving me top feedback so far and i have no problems with Greenline if GReedy end up been too greedy.

PS Sorry aK couldn't get it org'ed by Monday, just too soon, BUT if John agrees to price then ask him if he has any in stock already and give you that unit while he orders another in its place for the GB price.

Will keep you posted as it happens people. Really hard to get all this done while working on the other side of the contry for the next 2 weeks so thank you all for your patience.
