Great Photo's, It'll never replace being thier but it will have to do. I'd been working hard to have the car finished for this run, plan was to take a test drive on Saturday afternoon and fix any bugs but didn't get to the test run :(so Sunday Morning PhilZ rang me, are we going, both cars were ready but I had never driven mine, Both our wife's kept saying we cant just set off on a 600k's drive without even having driven the car up the street.

So I checked the forum and bracket had posted no-one was at the servo, I rang PhilZ and we figured no-one was going due to the weather, so we just left it and later in the day cruised down to Arthurs Seat & Rosebud in the a/noon. we were so P-ssed off on missing this run  ( Not brackets fault we should have just gone to the meet point) I even took time off work to get the car ready.

Thanks to the guys who put this event on each year, the organisation seems to have been top notch. Well Done. We'll be there next year.

Oh well Philz and I have decided we'll do our own mini (2 Car) GOR run in January or February, Gotta do that drive in the "Z":zlove:
    Cheers Dave

    Shame you didn't make it.

Colin found bRACKET in the end. We were at the Todd Road Service Centre on the south bound side of the road. bRACKET was waiting on the city bound side. I think the motto should be "never leave a man (or woman) behind" as it held true on the day.

Thanks to BADZX, Big Col, and anyone else who helped with organising this cruise. Good job guys.:)

Here's some pics of a few things that tickled my fancy on the day.

WTF?? Shortly after I headed off from Bendigo. It was too early in the morning to get my head around this.

How many Forum members does it take to change a hose clamp?
I think the guy with the brief case was the old hose clamp's lawyer -

Club cruises are a good place to go "window shopping" for ideas. It's great seeing what others have
done to their Zeds, I always pick up a few tips on a cruise. (Thank you to those who answered my questions :) )

These Z indicators intrigued me. Never laid eyes on them before the cruise but there were 3 Zeds on the day which
had these indicators fitted to them -

Another cool idea, Sandeep's windscreen wipers - Bosch "Aero". They sit much lower than the OEM wipers. Me like.

And this engine. Good stuff dude. Although we chatted a bit I didn't get your name, sorry.

Here's that "traffic light in the middle of nowhere" again -

I got back to Bendigo at 9.00 PM, without hitting any roos. I figure I'd spent 11 hours at the wheel out of 14 total by day's end.
Should have been weary but I couldn't sleep, I was still buzzing hours later. A brilliant day.:):):)

    Hi Cru1ser
Mate I've had the Sh#ts on all day at work, reading the posts looking at photos and thinking it's another 12 months away. As soon as I saw the first post this morning it hit me that bRACKET was at the wrong servo.

    MickW
11 Hours at the wheel, that's a fair effort mate, there's a man commited to the Z cause. That truck would have to belong to a female or maybe a bloke who sits down to P#ss.

The GOR will be crawling with tourists then. Might as well leave your accelerator pedal at home.:p

The Goldfields cruise to Central Vic is on for February. Below are some useful threads on it.
Look for posts from R31 Gagz and myself to get an idea of the routes.

Might have to try clear indicators Lol...

Anyone wants some of the z emblem indicators I still have a few left...

    Another great cruise!

I spent the weekend in woop woop, aka Bambra. And got my first flat in the Zed. (Also the first time I've driven the Zed with a spare and tools. So lucky I had the foresight to get it organised for the weekend). All photo's were taken by my mate Fil, and we were both a little hungover.

The Weekend took it's toll on the Zed though :( flat tyre, water leaks from heavy rain, My left dash pod came off. And my drivers side window won't wind all the way down.

Made it to Ceres at 8:30, The creepy scarecrow must be keeping the Zedders away.

And then the Melbourne crew rocked up. I was a bit dissapointed with the turnout, until the Geelong crew showed themselves.

Our first stop, a rewarding view after an awesome hill climb

A nice place for some lunch

I had a blast, can't wait for the next cruise!

was a great day! one of the best days that my zed has been running. after getting back to geelong at 7 i then went out for a cruise with a few mates afterwards, just couldnt get enough.

to anyone who was driving behind me on the day, found out that morning that my break lights didnt work so i was trying to use my parkers to compensate at times but yeah, sorry if it annoyed you at all :p

I had an awesome day driving.

I had never been on a cruise where I wasn't Bry's passenger. To actually be driving my zed was a great thrill and having her finished to show her off. Although, I admit I struggled a bit it was a little daunting and only made worse by the wanker who tailgated me on the GOR in the friggin banged up magna and who thought it was his place to abuse me!!!!!

Sorry to those of you who were stuck behind me as we left Port Campbell sorry I was taking it slow; the zed was up until last Thursday an auto and I hadn't driven her as a manual before this weekend, let alone driven any manual vehicle through towns on twistys or done hill starts!

A BIG thanks to the Geelong crew for looking out for me and giving me encouragement on the bloody hill starts and a special thanks to Bry for fixing the zed so beautifilly and forgiving me each time I over revved the car :)
