Very good point. A lot of companies mechanical and smash repairers just want to deal with big company contracts, govt contracts or insurance contracts. I know a few people personally who have set up just to do contracts then close down when things slow up, they never want to deal with public. which I can understand! An old friend of mine who has his own workshop (mechanical) always gets people who don't want to pay for the work which gets done! He has also moved, and now focussing on company contracts, and refuses to deal with some people at all. And another old friend who ran a very big smash repair op shut up shop completely, and moved into another industry, after stopping private jobs because of people not paying, then ended up having insurance companies causing headaches all the time also!
