Any updates or anything as to where this is at atm? I understand that it will be months and months til we see this product (and even longer before I can afford to install it) but some progress reports along the way would be sweet
Not much to report as yet! The kit will be arriving SOON! (any day now!) So production will be underway soon after. I will keep everyone posted when something interesting happens! lol!
I've been thinking about the fuel fillers and spacers. I would have to assume that a suitable fuel filler can be sourced locally, just check out an issue of street machine. I'm sure i've seen all sorts of styles in there in the past. I hate buying anything from the UK as you seem to loose so much money in the exchange. I got my rims a few weeks ago to go with this kit but the rears are not a standard offset for the zed. They are on the car now but stick out of the rear guard ever so slightly. So I think I may need slightly thinner spacers and was intending to look into having some machined up. I'm not chummy with any machine shops unfortunatly but i'm sure there is someone on here that might be able to help organise something for those of us that that will need spacers? Does anyone have any idea what it may cost to have them made or is the UK ones actually going to be cost effective? Thanks for the update anyway, can't wait Ben
Wheel spacers I am getting some made up for my car and I can get them made for $300.00 SO im sure if i had a few orders I can get a better price for them.
Gonzo im still in this dude, just need to prioritise it a bit better I was speaking to my panel beater and he wants to know what fibre glass kit to use to mold it on. Can you please find out what the best fibre glass kit to use is. Also, i told him that the rear fenders and skirts is screwed on and then fibre glassed to give it a smooth finish. Is this correct? Thanks
I'm not in this group buy but I was just wondering what the approximate cost would be to have this kit in eurathane instead of fiberglass. Would you be able to use the same moulds that you have for the fibreglass kits? Just a rough price is all I'm after. Thanks.
Wide body kit install Some people mite just use 2K body filler to mould it to the car. You should screw and sticaflex it on first, then use body filler to smooth out the edges. you could use fibre glass but as it is runny you either put the car on its side so it wont run of. (not advisable) So you would use fibre glass that is pre mixed with fibre matt that is thicker and it wont run. Avalible from must auto shops comes in a can with hardner you add to it. There is no such kit for sale that goes with ths type of work. Poeple mite not like to have body filler in there car. But it mite already have some in it for all you know. And every pic of a Z with a wide body kit on it you have seen. Have had body filler in it to install the kit. So Im would favor the body filler and that what im going to be using. A good panel beater will apply the filler in the right way so you will never have any cracks later on. But the kit has to be fixed to the car in a way that it so tight fiting and will not move or flex before the filler in applied so then you know there is no movement transfered through the body filler or then you will get cracks. When i do my kit I will post up stage by stage install pics you never know it might even get a place in the tech section lol At least i will be the only Tassie Z with a wide body kit on it. At this stage anyway.
eurathane kit I will get back to you on that one. I'L check that out at work tomorrow for you. I'L ask the boss if we can do it from the same mould.
