I have tested this as i was wondering the same. so i let it run the fuel all the way till the end. Ran out of fuel on freeway.. But the light never came on:bash:.

not worth the hassle but atleast i know that my fuel light doesn't work.

Same can only top up 50L . don't think its 70 L tank. mine is TT 4 seater

How many litres did it take to fill your empty tank back up? 50L?

When I was putting in my Walbro I had a real good look inside the tank to look for any crud and whatnot. Perfectly clean, not a trace of filth at all... I thought that after 18 years there would be a good build up...

What? 12 months down the track and you're still confused about this issue?

A: How do you know your tank is empty(please don't say the fuel gauge told you)?
There is still about 15 ltrs of fuel in the tank when the gauge says "EMPTY"(this is because the Fuel Pump needs to be submerged in fuel, so as to keep it cool).

B: Your tank holds 72 ltrs, end of story.
