me 2 scott. Could be right foot... but who knows Yer man I get crappy economy too. Always have. I've tried lots of things to fix economy including airfilter, plugs, ecu, throttle body cleaning, iaa adjusting, tps setting, o2 sensors, new cats, ecu remap, revlimiting to 4500rpm, limiting boost to 7psi... etc.... not much seems to help. Must be something wrong with mine and possibly yours too but I've just given up and enjoy it anyway!
hmm.... i get 250 k's to 40 litres.... hmm... 250/40 X 72 (full tank) = 450 k's! (not bad.....) yes, i revised my previous calculation...
Quite easily achievable. My NA regularly 8.2-8.3 L/100km Hwy. Maxs'z also got his TT down into the 8's on the way back from Goulburn last Easter. If you've got cruise-control, use it. Especially on the highway, with the price of petrol what it is.
A tank of BP Ultimate lasts me for 7 days......... admittedly the zed sits in the garage 6 days a week[/COLOR=green]:LOL:
a full tank will last me 5-6 weeks, but I only drive it on the weekend. I get about 500km for a full tank before the light comes on. My fuel efficiency has increaced dramatically ever since I have my coolant temp sensor checked out.
I filled up with 98 octane last night Drove 34 km and the needle was sitting almost a quarter of a tank lower. Admittedly, i was giving it pretty hard.
Also, I think fuel economy is related to the quality of the fuel used. I normally use BP Ultimate, but the other night I called into the local BP to find they were in the process of a building spray-clean, and all the pumps were closed. I went down the road and filled with Optimax, and the beast started pinging something chronic. Stopped at the next servo (Caltex) and bought some octane booster (STP) which fixed the pinging, but the economy on this tank of fuel has been abysmal.
Fate replies with "Me thinks you should try Horn to set cruize control and Cruize control as horn maybe" Fate...
Has anyone experienced poorer fuel economy after installing atmo BOVs? I know that they are meant to cause poorer fuel economy but I am wondering how much of an effect they'd have. Also boost leaks, how badly can they affect fuel economy? My O2s have been tested and they appear to be working fine, can't for the life of me work out why I get such poor fuel economy.
My fuel consumption is so poor I'm looking at investing into... one of those aircrafts that fill jet planes up. Then instead of spending half my time at the pump I can get filled up on the run
I have great fuel ecconomy........>> I regularly get over 500ks to a tank highway and over 450 for around town driving. I also have atmo BOVs and 555 injectors so I can't see them being your problem. That being said I also have an auto so the gear changes are nice and crisp with very little BOV action at all. Of course if I start getting on the pedal for competition the fuel ecconomy goes out the window. I might try and work out how crap it is at this Sundays hill climb. Boost leaks in a turbo car will kill fuel economy.
Scott > bearing in mind recent maintenance & 'other' mods >>> Check for boost & vac leaks + actual base timing. You've got summat not quite right.... yet.
