Just recently became a 300zx owner whoohoo. Love the car but what is killing me is the fuel economy. I have a 1989 (z32) 3 litre twin turbo.

What are other people getting by way of fuel efficiency? Litres per 100kms?
Want to see a 300zx mechanic in Sydney do you know of any?

    Thanks

400-450 K per tank City Cycle
650-700 K per tank Hwy Cycle (using cruize control and no boosting :) )

    So that's about 10L / 100km

i get 250 k's for 40 litres all the time urban.

    and thats b00sting it!

    hmm... 250/40 X 65 (full tank l ) = 406 k's! (not bad.....)

    14.93 - 16.58 L/100km

    I've started keeping a record each time I fill up;

    28-07-2005
Driving : first 1/2 of the gauge was 240ks on the Binna Burra CruiZe, the rest was city driving
    Fuel : BP Ultimate
    kms : 375
    Liters : 56
    km/L : 6.69
    L/100km : 14.93

    03-08-2005
Driving : mostly city driving, 1 trip to the airport and back and a little fun with a white 300zx ;)
    Fuel : Shell Optimax
    kms : 374
    Liters : 62
    km/L : 6.03
    L/100km : 16.58

I drive my Z almost every day, usualy short trips (under 20ks) so she burns a lot of fuel sitting around warming up and cooling down.

My TT gets about 300kms to 60litres

sometimes 350-400 if highway driving, but I am looking at ways of improving this because I am not happy about it, I even have an ECU upgrade.

    fuel consumption

i get 300k;s out of 25 litres of fuel

boosting it to redline every gear around town

    900k's on the highway

mods were at the time, 3" Dual exhaust, twin pods, 16° timing
    gapped plugs to 0.8mm
    and dump pipes

ecu is questionable as i havent looked at it yet

    my numbers

i get on average 400km in the city and around 580-600 highway.

that's before my 100k service. i also replaced all injector connectors since service which is making a huuuge difference. so far i've got 250km just under the halfway mark. can't wait in the next 2 weeks, getting new o2 sensors and cleaning throttle bodies this weekend, should see more improvement

    BigCol That's what she said...

Probably has less to do with the car than it does your right foot

Strangely every year my car gets older, but my fuel economy improves. Go figure!!!
