    beaver .. my magnetic sump plug came from a just jap

    group buy thingo ... they didn't fit ...!!! .. couldn't be bothered returning mine and picked up this idea from another forum member ...

    the other option, as mentioned, is the el cheapo, supercheap "claw tool" .. bunnings have these as well ....:biggrin: :biggrin:

    There are some advantages in being a biomedical technician who works in a hospital. I borrowed the endoscopic camera when I was trying to find a leak in the back of the engine. I imagine having access to such equipment would be handy in this case as well. :p

    A friend of mine used to tie a piece or string to each of his tools.
    (this is back when i worked for beaurepaires- hindsight he couldn't of been very bright; that is, working for Beaurepaires!)
    One end would be to the spanner and the other end would be to a little lead weight (just a wheel weight)

    when he used the spanner, he'd hold the string and weight scrunched up in his hand, if he dropped the spanner there was more of a likelyhood that he would be able to grab the weight at the end of the string and retrieve his spanner.
    Also the little steel tab on a wheel weight was able to be picked up be a magnet.

    IT was a good theory, although the bloke was a dope, so he didn't last very long for other reasons.
