Yes I will make them available to purchase along with a whole bunch of other vh45 parts I want to do. James
Today's efforts... you can see the shorter R33 clutch master in this pic, it's a much smaller unit compared to the Z32's It's in there!
awesome! the engines in! so are you at the point where you go " shit... now what ? " or is everything going to plan lol.
na we got to finish the mounts, do the custom oil pickup and bolt her all up properly... and refresh the poor little engine it MOSTLY going to plan, and way ahead of kevins schedule
More and more I read these threads, the more and more I reckon a V8 should have gone into the Z in the first place. Makes sense if it's target market was the Corvette crowd.
Nice work Kevin, Aidan and Cinda, Kevin u gotta be happy with the progress, its come along way since i saw it on wednesday, Well done
yeah it's mostly going to plan... only problem today was we realised the modded sump is actually a rear pickup (actually I remember Anton telling me this now...) so it can clear the crossmember. So the pickup line needs to be fabbed up as well... Took a bit of stuffing around to drop the engine (bolted to the tranny) into the chassis, we ended up taking the sump off just so we could get to sit and make the prototype engine mounts... However when we bolt up the engine in there for real and the sump is on, the front subframe will probably need to be dropped first lol al, a factory V8 Z would be cool but then we wouldn't have awesome swaps like this :zlove:
Yeah mate, very happy with the progress... definitely helps that we've got 3 people working on it at all times also about the ECU... I'll get back to you on that tomorrow cause I still need to discuss that.
Yes, crossmember has to be dropped to get the enigne in with the sump on. I think you will find that you have to jack the engine up a bit from where it is now.... Is that my old sump that you have? And have you bolted the gearbox mount up yet? Looks like the motor has to go back a bit yet.
GB is bolted up to the body so engine sits in the correct place, looks very forward but actually isnt too bad... we have the engine a little low atm, just so we could let it sit till next day working on it, we will level it out then to fab the mounts
yeah it's sitting on a bit of wood and yep it's your old sump, repaired quite a bit since it was very thin on one side...
Damn all you inspirational people...why can't you leave good enough alone!! *sigh* this is going to get expensive again...I swore I wouldn't do it...but fk, order placed.
looking tough man that photo with the front end and the eng in looks tough for some reason lol nice work
another one? I think this will be the year of the VH yerr how tough does that front end look with the spider poking out hehe:zlove:
