but simmo isnt 'show quality' not necessarily 'go' quality? i think there should be some NA's in there too.. not saying me just in general, but will minivan and zrated be done by then? they dont even have wheels atm...
I have the spare plenum and throttle bodies here at home ready to go. Also have half a brake kit upgrade. Just a bit of work and a little more money. We'll see how it goes.
my engine upgrades are scheduled for mid next week, we're expecting something around the 200+rwkw .... and also getting everything that can be polished/chromed done. haha as Tom put it 'that's alot of bling!!' who knows maybe i can do the turbos too by july ... thats like ..... 4 months away!!! i'm pretty sure that my stereo is one of the best in perth, if there is anything i can help out with just let me know .... OH I HAVE THE HOTTEST CHICKS FOR MODELS !!!!! my sister and a couple of her friends have already signed up if i ever wanted to do photo shoots for my car!! depending on how many ppl want to meet up i can even offer my games room and stuff for the meeting (will need help clearing it up a bit though)

sorry don't want to sound negative but that's the impression I get on most our events but hey this maybe something to inspire us to do something about it. I can imagine that most have been like me in wanting to sort out the mechanicals before anything else.. I know I need to clean up the wheels, redo the tail lights, do some touch up paint work (if possible with my pearl paint!), switch out the dirty old recaro with my leather seat and a few other things but shouldn't be too far off starting it all. Oh and someone should contact Bosco about entering, that's a nice Z.
i agree mikeH there is only 3 that i have seen that i reckon make the grade, a couple of almosts and the rest, well, having a car that you can drive is more important than looks in the first instance another thought , it would be nice to see a show quality stock Z, i haven't seen one of those either
ouch! i think that's a bit harsh... i'm sure there are plenty of respectable z's in wa. also remembering what miksta said that the intent is to promote the club let ppl know that it exists, i found the forum by accident but i'm sure if it was 'marketed' a little there are plenty of others that would love to join. and on another note .... my car is going to be entered in the autosalon and the other big one in november by audiocom so makes no difference to me, i'd just like to see others there too! (and i'll be putting my forum sticker on for the show)
Simmo I agree that we have to choose cars which are decent and will make the cut, now these cars don't ONLY need to be modified mothers, IMO we need some big HP ones to show to ppl on the dyno that the Z can move somewhere, we need some "show stoppers" and obvioulsy we can all think of some which'll do the job right, all im saying is a mix would be great, i agree with the other people comments that we have not very many show quality zeds out there BUT i'll say it again, Alisa reckons that they make allowances for clubs and this is so true, i remember last year the honda civic club entered 6 cars, they were not modified slightly, none of them were washed lol, etc etc, all they done it was to promote the club and get their name out there and that worked for them, i know that our club has much better "show cars" than them, oh and dude i was thinking of putting ur name down purely on the engine bay side of it, once again a mix of what ppl have done in WA....
Yeah, I'd say there are more just they don't know about the forum. I've seen quite a few nice Zs and a few exceptional ones driving around SOR that I don't know. Maybe they are rich and have no need of a tech section lol.
There is definately enough worthy zeds that can enter this event. All you got to do is look at the crap the Silvia clubs get in (not all of them, just some real bunkies wasting space thrown in with the group) My only critisism of the AutoSalon group is they charge a shedload for entry and you really get bugger all for it here in Perth. It would seem only the huge dollar non driveable cars have any chance of winning anything too bar dyno events.
Mike.... This is the misconception about autosalon, when ppl think autosalon they think all high and might cars, blingorama and stuff which is purely crazy, BUT i agree with u that if we were only thinking about those lines there would 3 in Perth that would make the cut, BUT i'll say it again, i'm only trying to do this to promote the club, not for personal satisfaction or others, club rules are more leniant as we are more interested in promoting the club as opposed to showing individual cars off, i believe in a variety of cars with different mods (exterior/interior/engine, etc), now if we think all this high and mighty stuff where ppl spend thousands of dollars modifying their cars and entering BY THEMSELVES then we will not enter.....
Yeah I said last time I would not be ever doing a solo entry to AutoSalon ever again, so if this gets up I'll put my Zed in with the group.
It would be so cool I would love 2 go but my car is not up 2 scratch but that's next on my list, kit and a spray
