Just wondering what the interest is for these?
Can be done in any color an EL panel comes in. I believe red, green, blue, yellow, purple, white etc.
They will all be done with new late model spec centre panels so no problems if your old one looks tired, and no need to remove your own panel prior to recieving this one.

Costs will be in the vicinity of $300aus delivered. Waiting for confirmation of price and probably depends on numbers.

    Pics of my panel:

If you can get it in UV that would be Great, if not. i'll settle for Purple

Yep its the new centre panel

however you realise the red writing is actually sanded out to make these? Otherwise you cant shine any light through a painted surface. The 300zx lettering will be the color of whatever the EL panel is. In my case its still red as I have a red EL panel. Blue will be blue etc etc.

I'm keen, but It would depend on timing

Plus need to pull mine apart first and see if its just a dry solder joint

    I'll take the white

Let us know what the cost is and how much cheaper it is with a group buy. Would it be easy to install your self and does it come with an instructions manuals

    Bank on $300 atm

Instruction manual consists of 1 page of paper with a diagram. Takes about 10 minutes including waiting time for the soldering iron to heat up. On a scale of 1 to 10 for difficulty, its a 0.

    illuminated rear panel

    i don't understand,
you can pay $300 for the rear panel, and its all wired up with the CCFL/neon ready to go
    or
you can get your existing one, follow the tech and buy the CCFL/neon for about $20 from jaycar.
don't quite follow what i'm paying $300 for? the panel and instructions on how to fit it?

the only concern i have with buying one is that yeh it would replace a tired looking one, but will it match the rear tail lights as well?
not trying to ruin the group buy at all, its still a good idea, just had a couple of questions.
    cheers.

    Thats fine

    ask away.

Your choices are spot on, although the EL panels I have seen for this purpose are a lot more than $20. Cant say Ive searched vigorously though. You can buy essentially a new one, or spend less money and make one yourself. DIY is obviously always cheaper than paying someone else.

Problems with making your own are time, effort, use of an old centre panel and chances of it breaking. People way up the cost of that compared to the cost of just paying for it all done for them. If you think its worth $300, then you go in the group buy, if you dont then you make one yourself or stick with the plain one.

I dont understand your concern about it matching the rear tail lights though. Its a replacement panel so what do you think wont match?

    Ok...

I was going to get the red one anyway...so as long as it's red during the day, that's cool.

I was about the buy the 2000 model panel from Concept Z for $200 delivered because I cracked my old one when I installed the tail lights...

$300 for an illuminated 2000 model panel is resonable.

Keep us posted on whether this buy goes ahead or not...

    Cheers

    Rob.

    Ok

    Ive had some info back.
For 10 units, working at an exchange rate of US75c/aus$, $285 should cover it for delivery to your door. Should be absolutely no chance of any duty/GST as monetary value is way too low via USPS.

Will run it for a week, then email everyone who expressed interest. Please make sure your email address is up to date on your profile.

Yep Z-Force, if you were wanting to replace your panel regardless its not a lot extra.
