When are you heading to the drags?

I am confused at what days you are talking about? If it is in a month or so count me in.

alex tell me when you have definatly dated this and ill do something about my fri shift.

i vote for calder though. personally never been to any drag strip actually, so lets start with something that is close to civilisation...

i might be going soon anyhow as i want a before and after comparison of runs with the tt diff and na diff...so ill do a before, and then this day will be the after i guess...

ill bring other mates in diff cars to race aswelll....

the later the better for me. giving myself till the 31st of May to have the zed running, then another month for breaking the engine in and tuning it. so i guess anytime around July should be fine.

just throwing dates out there, how about:

    July 4

    or

    July 11

for those of you that don't know ,,,

your car will go through scruteneering, ( after you pay)......... so YOU need to check your battery is tight so i does not move ,, then they will check your over flow bottle for you radiator ,, then wheel nuts ... if you got wheel cap for your rims ,, they don't like them so they may ask you to remove them .
( the cap that covers your wheel nuts ) ......
they will check your helmet as well , and you must have long sleeves ..

and guys /girls , just check your cars and make sure all is ok to race..
this is going to be a fun day , nothing serious ... so try not killing anything ...
lets just go and have fun.................................................................

wonder if we can book like a sat/sunday arvo at caulder.

Can you find out if they do priv functions maybe? How much would it be and how many people would we need on the drag strip. Cause theres always about 40 cars. And if we bring down 30 of our own, will be a while between runs. Especially when your not dragging all day. Lookin to have 3-4 runs then! ;/

RedZedMikey RZM should now be DZM

We have tried getting several drag days organised before, and the response from members willing or able to go down the track was nowhere near enough to justify hiring the track.

I seriously doubt you will ever get Calder to agree to us hiring the track for a Saturday/Sunday afternoon - this would interfere with circuit activities scheduled on almost all weekends.

My recommendation is to do either:
    1. Select a Friday night to get as many Zedders together as you can, and try to arrange it so that you are grouped together in the staging lanes.
    2. Select a test'n'tune day at Heathcote and make "our day" part of that. At least we can then park together, get a bbq happening (if someone brings one), have better control of wheels/tyres/tools etc, and you would almost definitely get more runs than Calder.
    3. There is a chance that NDSOC will be oragnising a Nissan drag day later this year, maybe at Calder, more likely at Heathcote. Obviously there will be Skylines, GT-R's, 240's etc as well. If it happens I will post it in this forum - you won't need to be an NDSOC member. Douggie (red32) and Jen (blondie) both won trophies at the last one at Heathcote :) :) :).
Remember we are now in autumn and winter is coming. Any arranged day will be subject to weather playing its part. Personally, My Z is off the road until such a time as I find an acceptable 2nd hand motor - but when I am back on the road again, I would be far more interested in the Heathcote exercise.

    Cheers, Mikey.

Calder park just got back to me now ,, i was told , to hire the track it would cost 6000$ for one day on the weekend ,,.. i said thanks and hung up the phone ..

i think to hold an event like this and to pay that sort of money ,,, we would need all the people on the forum ,,,,

now i still think we should just hold it for the Friday ,, we each pay our $60 and have some fun....

having said that , i don't mind paying the money if we can get the people. Say we do get the people , you are still going to get the same runs in one way or the other...
maybe we can organize a day at heathcote
