would there be anyone interested in going to Calder park raceway ,,, for some drags ( not drag queens ) ......................................................

i was thinking of doing this in a month or two , say the end of may early June... and will be on a Friday night................................................

this is NOT to see who is the fastest or anything like that ,, this is just an afternoon of fun...............................................................................

from memory i think it's about $60 to race ,,and $20 to watch

you must wear long sleeves , and have a adr approved helmet ( and no thongs ) ( Simon and chad no G strings )

so who's up for it????????? let me know .................................................................................................

    red32 You talkin' to me?

Peter B PM'ed me re this and I said 'probably', but I have to confess to second thoughts. To do it properly, I would bring 2 extra wheels (less than legal tread on tyres, so can't fit them beforehand), plus a trolley jack and tools. I've heard some bad stories about the security of stuff left in the pits going for a walk, so unless there is someone to 'stand guard', I'm not so sure about going.
On the other hand, there is no similar problem at Heathcote on their Test 'n' Tune days

i'd probably want to bring my spare set of wheels/tyres also. They're pretty low on tread, so would only be for burnouts if i felt so inclined. Not a lot of point using for a serious drag, though i've never driven with them to know of the tread levels.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do about slicks ATM ,,

I'm probably just going to use the streetrs ,

i use to drive there with slicks on the car and never had any problems ......

but yes it would be good for someone to watch over our stuff ..

having said that, i don't really think there will be any problems at Calder......

but if you choose to bring a second set of wheels,, a good idea would be for you to change them just before you get to Calder , and hide the wheels in another car , ( if you can )

I read somewhere that Heathcote is for sale and they don't have any events listed on their calendar for May onwards. Maybe it will be under new management by June. I think more people would come if we go during the day on the weekend rather than friday night.

    Yeh agree with sandeep

I've always been a fan of Heathcote, twice ran there. You get plenty of runs and don't have to wait around for the boys from Bell Street macca's to do their thing. Day event sounds good as we can get good numbers and a cruise up there too.

When I used to go Heathcote

once I got there I'd let the car cool down hood up, talk to some mates n watch the other cars then run it. Its up to u dude, I'll be down either way provided it doesn't clash with my respray.
