El light up center panel conversions, who wants it done???

Scott has done mine and it's winging it's way back to me at the moment.
I'll take some hi-res shots when I get it back.

if the red is a RICH DARK RED pretty much exactly what the stock brake lights look like then im in 100%

ive been trying to get a red one for ages but every red panel ive seen is BLOODY PINKKKISHHH...

if they are red like the brake lights show up then im in.

do u have any more pics of the red man ?????

im in dandy when can i drop it off (pending it is pretty much same red as the brake lights, worst is brake lights are a nice red and the centre panel lights up pinkish red)

 

I've heard of people trying to fix that by tinting a red behind the 300zx or putting red cellophane in front of the EL Panel... Don't know how well any of that works though.

When not lit up there more of a pinky red (i think all red el panels are) rather than a rich dark red. I Can make it a very rich dark red if you want by doing what blueraven said. it actually works very well like that, and its an easy add on to get the red tone your after

mine was pink when i bought it, it fell out of place in the back panel so i seperated them and i placed red cellofane over it before i melted them back together, red cellofane works a treat, its a rich dark red, ill try to get a pic up in this thread by tommorow night

 

yes if you can make it very rich dark red like (i want it to look exactly like the stock brake lights red) and nothing will be wrong with it, then im in what do we do from here?

Looks pretty red to me , although I did supply the inverter/EL panel.

 

Greg maybe you could give Scott the details of where you bought your EL panel??......like Chad said earlier - a lot of them look a pinkish red??

What about when the EL panel is actually turned off?? Does the un-illuminated EL strip still look red through the panel where the black finish has been removed?? - as a lot of them have an orange/red appearance when they are off??

Hope that makes sense??

 

im sorry but thats the exact pinkish red i was talking about. that would easily look alot more pinkish next to the stock brake lights

 

the one that pex supplyed me with is very pink when not lit up. as i said before that can be fixed with abit of cellofane if people think its to pink the ones im getting supplyed with are abit of a stronger red.

 

Im wanting to order the first batch of el panels by friday. if your in, please pay a $55 deposite by wednesday night at the latest.

I will order eveyones el panels on friday so please pay your deposite and let me know what colour your after by then. The el panels are coming from the States so they should take 7-14 days before i get them.

When they arrive i will inform all members and then its at this time that you will need to send me your Center Panel and i will install the el panel (at this stage the remaining $55 will need to be payed)

For melbourne members your welcome to drop off and pick up your panel if you want to save on money postage.

Finally got around to installing.
Looks nice and red to me.
Very similar to the tail lights.
