Just find a Blue Slip station and go there and have a chat!

They may have suggestions and some even think these things are not defectable. If they do, shove the standard air box in, standard intercoolers or paint the front mount black, see the RTA for another proper size plate (or slot the inner part of the bar so it fits) and shove the silencer back in. Then you are home and hosed for the inspection atleast lol. They can not ping you for things that are not on the defect slip and not a saftey issue. Your local blue slip station will also know the local engineer to chat to. Sounds like you got the same prat I got in Goulbourn a while ago who defected me:bash: although he knew more than the one up here:bash: .

thanks champ, i'll have a look into it, what would u use to cut slots out of the rear bar?

    Jigsaw...

with fine metal cutting blade (especially if its fibreglass your cutting)....sand edges...re paint with touch up if needed for the fine chipping if it happens..

If doing this method...which I have done without any dramas. Remember a "standard" jigsaw blade cuts on the upstroke...unless using special blades eg: laminex blades etc (which cuts on downstroke). So you will have to get behind the bar with the jigsaw so the painted side is on the opposite side to what you can see. Place low stick bodyworks grade masking tape over the line to be cut. The jigsaw blade with then cut on the up stroke though the masking tape greatly reducing chipping.
