So pipes extending past the perimeter of the vehicle are illegal, as are upswept tips.
What does the law say about the 'twin stacks' and stuff like that that people put on their pickup trucks and B&S utes?

Upswept tips are illegal if more than 10 degrees above the horizontal as it says.

Here is the same ADR40/00 in relation to N group which covers light to heavy goods vehicles. this includes most utes.

quick question. what is the process and fine if you get defected?

im worried about my z being low. If i get defected, can i just raise the coilover ride height, get it cleared, drop it down again? What happens if i do that and get caught again.. any worse than the first time round?

also the 100mm ride height defect, is that the lowest point of the car? are the wheels allowed to be slightly tucked under the guards if it doesnt scrape etc?

It appears a situation of where the ADRs are interpreted. The problems is it can happen on both sides of the equation. The exhaust angles you have are in accordance with the requirements of the ADR 42, however they may not meet the ?general safety requirements?, that each state can introduce. Like in SA it states that the exhaust can exit to the side but it must be on the RHS (similar to what Chilli). But there is nothing if the exhausts exits to the rear. Saying that you as the individual, or corporation can have ?allowances? made for you particular circumstances, as long as if they meet the intent of the ADR. I use as an example the latest generation of Mercs, which don?t have the correct angles, and lambos that are not 100mm clearance.
Talk with an engineering signatory, they can help with these aspects.
The steering wheel does not have compliance under ADR, and if it was tested it most likely will fail due to the metal internals. Having a non-padded centre does not make it illegal, having a non-ADR compliant steering wheel fitted is illegal. Happy to explain the ADR test, but it is of little relevance here.
