Hey Guys- I figure this is in the right section........

Thanks to you all for coming up and taking part. Awesome day, awesome weather, and although every year we think about doing another one earlier in the year but don't get around to it, again we will put it on the list of things to do (plus no Nationals next year so i have a chance to do a few things).

Whilst I have a copy of the times etc, to be honest i haven't had a look, and Brad will get it all together and get the results finalised in the coming days.

We didn't start on time-(many were late in arriving) but we still got 5 skidpan runs and 3 back track runs in, with the VB challenge at the end..........

To those who helped out on the back track (Jack had a good spot to watch!), taking pics, re-setting up witches hat etc...... Thanks a mill...

I have tons of pics (I thin there's "several hundred") so will whack a few up here after, but here's a couple

Thanks for the pics and times Karyn, and thanks to NDSOC and FPV clubs for running the day.

good to catch up with the regulars again, only 3 zeds but had some spectators and Jen in the golf too. nice mix of cars too, some really fast cars on the skidpan. the small red datsun convertible and the green SSS sedan looked really good all day.

great time by Pete on the backtrack although i think you are still 2 seconds slower than Ryan's time from last year... :D

the skidpan sessions were still my favourite part of the day. I liked all of the layouts (except that one with the long slalom reverse... i messed that one up nicely). the one with the J-turns and the reversing in/out of the mini garage was probably the best one.

I have about 20 vids from the gopro cam and some vids from my phone which I will try to upload tomorrow

RedZedMikey RZM should now be DZM

Once again, thanks to Karen, Sean, and all the NDSOC/FPV crew for organising this event; may it continue! I suppose the ultimate for me would be to tow the Z down with the XR6, and enter 2 cars ... but perhaps I'd better wait until the XR6 is supercharged ..... (dream on, Mikey!)

A fun day - was great to be driving a Z in action again (mucho thanks to Pete for letting me co-enter in the Wykked mobile). I would have loved to have had the Magna there again for the VB Challenge; probably better that I didn't given it has brand new tyres and I will be putting it up for sale soon!

Next year (hint, hint) I sincerely hope I will be steering RZ2 and putting that short wheelbase to good use! I found spin turns harder to do in Wykked, which could be down to the stickier R comp rubber. Other differences between RZ2 and Wykked were that Wykked had more powerful, but laggier turbos, and less axle tramp, but I prefer my gearbox and shifter. There was also the nervous factor that crops up when you're driving someone elses pride and joy.

I didn't take any pix, but during the VB Challenge I managed to get vids of Sandeep, Pete (Wykked), and Jen's Golf (blondie) - click the links below. All 3 runs were winning ones :D:D:D. The good and the bad came when most of the Fords had been knocked out, and I had to race Jen, did anybody get that one on video?! Pete wasn't sure whether to barrack for his car, or his wife!!! I won, just, but in the next run I got taken out by that awsome sounding and looking Cobra replica.

    Hey all,

    Was an awesome motorkhana event!
Had a lot of fun and the courses were real twisty and fun!
Limiter got quite a workout on each circuit esp on the free time at the end of the day haha

If there are any photos/vids of a black r32 with horrible stock rims, could you please post them and/or PM me a price etc

Thanks again to NDSOC and Ford XR club for putting the even together

    VIDS!

Video footage came out pretty good, sound isn't so great with the GoPro cam but got some interesting angles. Was worried about running out of memory as I only had the one 2gb card, turns out the 18 vids I got on the gopro cam only used about half of the memory card. Next time with an extra mem card I should be able to get all of the runs, although it was hard trying to space out the runs so we could swap the camera from car to car.

The footage i took with my phone is pretty average though, should get a decent used camcorder and tripod off ebay for next time.

no i think it was pretty much the same as last year, might have even been abit longer to the finishing gate. I can't remember last year, but this year they had spotters on the hill to fix up the cones/poles in the chicanes if a car clipped/moved them... ;)

sounds like a good day:(...they did have spotters on the hill last year too...ahwell my time is still up there :D

Sandeep I thinkyou will find that the back track had the last chicane reversed , this definitely slowed the times plus the other chicanes were a lot tighter than last year.
It's a pity that we don't get to see everyones driving skills ,I was very impressed with your smooth lines on the skid pan ,only saw you the once, thats not counting the VB shootout. I definately didn't try to check out your skills then, could have given you the edge if I had ...lol
A great family day, thanks to all those that organised / marshalled on the day again WELLDONE.

Thanks for the links Sandeep - and the post on AFF. I'll attach something to the websites with your links if that's ok.

Same spotters as last year- chicanes slightly tighter, not sure about the last one being in reverse as i left him to it when he started setting up. But... it wouldn't suprise me if he did that...........

I've stuck about 100 pics on the fpvxrclub.com website and will whack some on the ndsoc site tonight..........
