Due to poor numbers and regulations changes late last year we had to put off the planned DECA day. We had intended to co-organise the day with the NDSOC to bolster our numbers a little to assure that the day would go ahead, but due to one of the NDSOC committee members also being on the FPV and XR Owners Club they have teamed up to run a day, leaving us with little option except to attend theirs.

The Details I have at present are:

    Sunday the 17th of August
$50 entry fee with 60 spots (30 for each club).
AASA event so either a AASA or CAMS licence will be acceptable.

The only problem is that at present the spots are reserved for members of the two clubs, 30 places for each. After the 1st of August any unfilled places will be opened up to members of other clubs, with priority given to those who get their name on a wait list.

Jen still has deposits received from a number of members who expressed interest in the day we didn't have so how many of those members are NDSOC members who are interested in attending? If you are then let me know and I will pass your money along to secure you a spot. If you are not a member and want to join then jump in quick, or if you just want you name put on the wait list for any available spots I should have details for how to do that within the next day or so.

I'm definately still keen!!! Only thing is that I'm a member of SAUVIC for the rest of this year and can't really afford to join NDSOC this year. So you can put me on the waiting list I guess, and if it fills up with members I'll come to help out.
edit: How much is NDSOC membership? if it looks like filling up I may just have to join up with NDSOC to get a spot. The next SAU event is in November and I don't think I can wait that long for another shot at DECA.

Yeah, Id love to Pete. At least with larger numbers we should hopefully not have an issue getting enough ppl you help out with running the day :)

this is the form i am filling out. but it says that i need to be referred by a club. so im going to have to find someone who will sign the paper for me  . i dont need to be a member of a club but just need to get it signed etc for a reference. any ideas on what i could do about this, apart from joining ndsc. i have plans to join them but not right now...

    Hey Chad,

I think for AASA you still have to be a member of an AASA or CAMS affiliated club like NDSOC or SAU (pls correct me if im wrong ;)). Hits the wallet quite hard, paying first for a club membership, then your racing license then the event entry fee...on top of fuel, food, accommodation if its more than 1 day...possibly broken car

But then no one ever said racing was cheap :(....but its bloody good fun :D

    Cheers!

    Chad,

Regardless of whether or not AASA require membership of a club, note Pete's original post ...
... noting that a DECA day was at the top of the NDSOC membership survey "what events do the members want for 2008", I expect NDSOC & FPV club members to fill all spots. I would advise you to join NDSOC if you wanted to be part of this.

    Cheers, Mikey.

    Hi Pete,

Must have glossed over the last part of your post...I was one of the people that made a deposit with Jen for the last day and left it there for the re-organised DECA day. I'm also a NDSOC member, so can you please secure my spot.

    Cheers!

I have a friend who wants to enter. So we'll probably come to the next NDSOC meeting to join and also pay for DECA. Hopefully it doesn't fill up before the next meeting.

OK, I've got 5 spots being held under my name which are for Mikey, Peter, Andrew, Craig and I. Guys, can you send me a a PM each listing your NDSOC member details so I can pay your deposits over. If you also include your email addresses I can mail you the entry form that will need to be filled in.

Got this up date from Karyn at the NDSOC.

Helmets are required if doing the back track........

Otherwise no other requirements than emptying your car. The back track will be run with 3 chicanes in it and you actually do the full track. It's the same layout as for Duttons. Start on the straight just before the "infield area" (where in duttons you go in and go round witches hats) and head anti-clockwise going through 3 chicanes until coming to a stop in a garage (of witches hats) at the top of the 2nd hill (where the cross road is)

You can take passengers on the skid pan - no passengers allowed on the back track.

Should be a top day if the weather holds. How many people are coming up for a look? and maybe to jump in a passangers seat?

Thanks for that, think ill have to find myself a helmet as I dont want to mis out on the backtrack!

Just another quick question, being a AASA event, what are their regs on interior/exterior cameras on the cars? Is it the 100g like CAMS I think you were talking about the other day?

    Cheers, Andrew

    BigCol That's what she said...

I'd be interested in coming along for a looky, but will only be able to commit much closer to the date due to work commitments.

The AASA tend to adopt the CAMS regulations for events, rather then have their own. Probably best to ask Karyn at the next meeting, but be prepared to have it nocked back if the mounting isn't deemed to be strong enough to hold the camera in the event of an accident.
