that was not even the give away ,, it was the look of the crank, the way the machine work was done , and the grinding of it .. then i had a closer look and seen the numbers on the crank. ( i built/made Holden cranks , and so on , for 6 years at Holden) anyway the s1 crank and the s2 cranks are different again . the s2 crank are clean and why smoother then the s1, this really really helps in the the balancing of the 2 , IN a big way . . i do feel for the guy, but in one way he did re-build the engine so he should have seen that and known. any builder would have seen that of the bat ..
i did mention this in his for sale add, as he didnt know what they were . they look like they are 254 @ 8.5
JUN make a 256 in 8.6mm and 9.3mm and 264/9.5 in hydraulic but he said he had solid cams ? or was it just noisy lifters
yes sorry , 256 in 8.6, the 9.3 need machining .. no idea maybe just noisy litter.. a damaged solid lifter will make a different noise to a damaged hydraulic lifter ,
I did read the whole thread. Sadly, and MY BAD, I must have missed that gem as it did not appear earlier on. My assumption was 600 wheel horses as I (and most others) dont give ANY attention to engine horsepower and only what makes the car actually go and thats at the round black things. Mah bad!!!! L8r E
The way I understand it is the overall $ per km on e85 is about the same as premium. You use more litres/km but it's cheaper per litre, the only real difference is overall range on a full tank is reduced. Think of it like 10% cheaper to fill the tank but you go 10% less distance before you run out. As long as you arent trying to go across the Nullabor without jerry cans it should be a wash.
For E85 its actually closer to 25-30% more fuel usage. The few people i know that run it say fuel consumption takes a nose dive, but would never switch back to pulp98.
Yeah 10% was pulled out of my ass for illustrative purposes only, wasn't sure of the actual figure. I'm considering the conversion down the track myself.
This will be My setup Except for 300Deg and 850cc GT2871R turbo kit No cats and maybe a fuel upgrade Tuned on 24psi by Toshi I can't wait
