Both are members of the Sydney Z car club. I had a ball on Sunday waving flags at all you competitors on turn 10. Zeds were very smooth compared to some of the rat bags in the little Dattos.

Sorry bout that to everyone we didn't get a chance to

say bye too.

We left @7AM and because of some idiot's:wacko: directions, we ended up getting stuck in Sydney for like an hour (just using the sun as a guide as to where north was)... from there we drove straight thru finally finding the New England Hwy and making it home around midnite.

We were getting so desperate to mark our progress (you know what long trips are like) and tired ... that we begged a calendar from a driver reviver and as we didn't have a ruler, I started using a battery to measure distances ... so it was like ....

Driver:"how long to the next town?" ...
PSA: "Umm, about half a battery"
Driver: "WTF, speak english man"
PSA: "Let me out, I'm walking from here you unappreciative bastard"
Driver: "Go ahead, I'm not stopping"
PSA: "%$@*&% *$#@#%$^^%$##&^*(%$#"

I got him back later though, when I filled his car up with diesel

Definate shame we had to shoot through early and didn't get a chance to say goodbye as nobody was up and about yet. If I'd known ahead of time I would have said goodbyes the night before. Oh well - I'm sure we'll all meet again at some point (not to mention chat on the forum).

As far as the directions to home - all I can say is next time I'm coming prepared - and I'm never trusting directions from a servo operator ever again. We got two "bum steers". :thumbsdown:

As for the new unit of measure that I'm submitting to SI (necessity being the mother of inventions) I'm sure I'll give the credit to Mark at some point.

Mark - diesel in my tank? Maybe you won't get credit for the new battery as a measurement of length then...

Fixed Shaun's passenger window button assembly (@ 110KPH...) Yes I know ... I can't help myself... but my toolbox was just there and I needed just one more quick fix after the 'smorgasboard' at the Trappers carpark

Glad you only used a battery to measure with - the mind boggles when you think of all the other items that could have been utilised:embarrassed::embarrassed:

My trip back was smooth and at the SPEED LIMIT!!! Stopped at DinoZ for the night and ran a full Datascan log the next morning. Couple of quick runs fanging up and down a (ahem) private road where he lives. All's well.

Just one bit of drama as I was pulling off the M1 5kms from home - my transmission started slipping really badly. Managed to crawl home over the hills and have'nt looked at it since as I'm too busy with work. I'm hoping it's just a blocked oil filter (Yeah right!) Failing that I'll probably take it to that fellow in Underwood that you recommended (Scott).

Our cars like to keep our interest level high don't they:LOL::LOL:

Was a great weekend >

had a great time good to catch up with people from gilgandra and meet people from the forum i hadnt met in person. The show and shine was good alot of interesting cars and conversions done. Had an absolute blast out on the track started off with the hill climb mmmm cold semi slicks didnt work too well off the mark and those nice slow corners at the top were a P.I.T.A but was fun got a 1:02 something, the regularity was ok also got into the top 50 maybe higher not sure. The supersprints was what i had been waiting for all day and was very nervous about seen i hadnt done the track before start with a best of 1.20.70 not too bad but i knew i could go faster, then on the second run got a best of 1.17.55 i think helps knowing what to expect going into a corner, and for the third and final run got a best of 1.16.48 i think ended up about 26th overall i think, with a lil more practice might have been able to pull a 1.15... but no way of finding out now overall thou im very happy with how i went gave a few TT's a un for their money but most of all improved my times run after run. look forward to the next one if i can make it.

Oh also got some great footage with AZA cam from the hillclimb, regurality and 1 run of the super sprints as soon as i put it together ill see if franz can host again.

What a great weekend

Finally home from work at a semi reasonable hour and have had a chance to catch up on all the news.

It was really great to meet everyone and to see the cars. We are inspired to do some more work to our old girl and perhaps give her a few exploratory laps on the track.

We can't wait to catch up at the next meet :zlove:

I wish I had of been able to hang around for a bit longer but work waits for no man.

I had a brilliant time and I think we should do it twice a year not once every two!
