Dat interior ... da real shit ... absolutely tops ... !!!! now let's have all the nay sayers pour crap on that ....
Yah thats pretty tough. My rebuilt na with every bolt on there was came nowhere near. So your talking serious engine work to get up there. Dont forget that 262hp/190kw is quoted as crank. Drops it to around the 140-150rwkw mark which is at the higher end as most of ours with every bolt on. But they are still just numbers. Financially he would be better off bolting on some auto turbos on the current engine rather than his planned ITBs.. unless he just wants ITBs for asthestic value.
Well.. Ok Ill have a go, for starters, the seats have weird holes in them....and nothing going thru them. Now, i would have thought that if you spent a crapload on re-upholstering those trick looking seats youd go the extra mile and cover those stupid full harness holes up......... perhaps someone forgot. This is not a faux race car and Id confidently predict it will NEVER see a harness bolted in. Oh.. my bad, they must be "Jesus Holes"...(somewhere for the freaked out passenger to grab onto whilst screaming "Jeeeeeezuussss" just before the car hits something.. like a matchstick.... which might trip it over at worst or at best loosen his teeth fillings.....or... are they there to make it easier to lift the seats in and out...??? Strategically placed hand holds for improved sex activities???....eerrrm. However, impressive car. Stupid wheel/tyre setup tho. Looks like its bashed a gutter hard and holes in seats WTF??????? Ran out of money to buy tyres that actually fit perhaps??? Power output...? Academic really. Incremental improvements for disproportionate amounts of cash...... L8r E
Seats are out of a 997 GT3, so they are supposed to have holes in them And he didn't recover the seats...
Meh... details!!! Wouldnt matter if they came out of a FA-18! SHOULD have gone the extra couple of yards and had them recovered rather than just plonk them in!!!! H5! L8r E
Looked like the balace bar was removed after the graft. How does the balance tube removal effect the engines performance? What are the pitfalls?
Performance wise, nothing really. I seriously doubt that that stock tube would serve as an intake volume variable anyway hence it is not "gated" in some way now. Unlike, say a VG30det which has quite a large gate valve which joins seperates both sides of the inlet plenum. However, it becomes crucial to have both TB's initial openings synched very closely using manometers. vac guages or an experienced ear, same as ITB's If out of synch, you get one side of the engine pulling harder than the other with an uneven, missfiring kind of idle and some "thumping" in the exhaust at low throttle openings. Higher throttles its not really noticeable. L8r E
oh my god will you READ the build thread before you post and talk utter shit? The seats are out of a GT3 and come with the harness slots when new. They have been taken into consideration and powder coated black from silver. The owner IS planning on putting in harnesses in. They also haven't been retrimmed. The balance tube was relocated to under the plenum and obviously that was the answer to Graham's question.
Ho-hum....l Back in your box young fella yer? Just because you ape the car does not mean anyone else has to and if we dont like it we will say so. The reverse is also true. No, I didnt read the thread and are not interested. Its a pretty car. Thats it. The (gmbrezzo) question was quite clear, even if it was not necessarily the intended question. How about YOU read THAT before mouthing off "utter shit" as you claim? It was also given a clear and relevant answer. There....all fixed. Now run along now. L8r E
Lets see your car buddy, then we can compare. Try and keep the negative comments from a positive thread. This car is absolutely amazing to the last detail. It's the best example of a na I've ever seen.
Compare what exactly fella? That this guy has unloaded god only knows how much folding into his ride and I unloaded exactly 3 grand on mine! So what? My car comes already customised with faded and chipped paint, a ding in the front left guard and some insignificant rusting on the rooftop and around the rear hatch window. Oh yes, i installed a generic brand electric aerial for that extra custom factor. Even some of the original window tinting is lifting on the high side rear quarter window! And so??? This dude spends half of his waking life cleaning, polishing and maintaining his fearfully expensive pride and joy and I give my car the once over with the truck wash and broom after work once a week. Not only that, he most likely spends most of his waking life worrying about stone chips and carpark dents and i couldnt give a toss about them. They are badges of honour to me along with the slight oil leak from the back of the drivers side cam cover and the hideous rattling coming from the slogged out swaybar linkage rose joints. However, I get only sheer joy out of my old white rat shitter. I drive the thing every day and wear the dirt and stone chips with pride! I subscribe to the "rat" or "Hoodride" theory and in that sense, my banger would win hands down agains that pretty-boy poseur mobile with the weird looking canted inwards wheels. If your so keen to see my shitbox then go and have a look in my profile like most others do. Lastly, I'll make whatever comments I see fit to make, +ive or -ive as is my perogitive to do so on an open forum. Yours in Zedding E
Normally that look really isn't my thing, I can appreciate it for what it is though when well executed. In this case that NA looks fantastic. The only thing that feels a bit off about it is the seats. Yeah they're set up nicely colour wise and all the rest, but they just look so out of place with the rest of the interior. Everything is so well integrated that it looks OEM and then you have those seats which sort of look like they've been ripped out of a go-kart and wrapped in leather with red stitching. They'd work if he'd gone for the whole modded track car interior look with an aftermarket steering wheel and painfully obvious gauges hanging from places that were clearly never meant to hold them. Each to their own I guess, still looks awesome.
its a fantastic looking z. The wheels however are an abortion. Getting wheels to fit and getting wheels to suit are 2 entirely different things. The owner appears to be too focused on the former.... and the latter has let the entire car down.
yep .. you are right .. your choice to comment how you like and to rubbish anyone else who makes a comment ... and many thanks for this last largely irrelevant and emotional outpouring ... adds nothing.
Is that so? "rubbish anyone else" You think??? So show me where I "rubbished" anybody??? No dont bother, you cant. Well, that may be one persons opinion. Must be a full moon. L8r E
