the adr (61/02) says that the front plate must be parallel to the axle and less than 1.3m off the ground. it doesn't say anything about it being centred, that might be a law specific to your state though. In vic you can mount them on the side, as long as it visible from 45degrees above and both sides. http://www.comlaw.gov.au/ComLaw/Legislation/LegislativeInstrument1.nsf/0/2E6DF3A401641CDDCA2570D5000846CF/$file/ADR+61-02+%5BFINAL+FRLI%5D.pdf
Getting so over the laws in this country They are getting bloody ridiculas, seriously they wanna fine you for everything and anything these days. Australia is becomming one of the most policed country's in the world and most people laugh at our laws cause they are so ****ing STUPID.
bahaha.. agreed LOL and the laws are not enforced standardly.. there is a large biase nature there too.. EG>. cops much rather pull over a P plater in a ZX then a P plater known to speed in his EXCEL who has lost his licence before where as the ZX P plater has a clean record LOL.
I thought this picture was amusing. I seriously think the police need to spend more time with real crimes than yellowing cars that aren't unsafe and catching people doing 3 over:
Evo's have been doing the number plates on the sides for years. It's not illegal. They pulled you over for no reason, they where assholes imo
as close to the center as possible? just say that is you have it centered in blocks off the flow to your FMIC (true) and your car over heats easily. if its on the side its still as close as possible
