Re: Install as $150 at fulcrume Sup in brisbane thats a discounted price for the test mule.. not sure what it will be normally. its an easy enough job to do yourself, and then all you have to pay for is a wheel alignment
pickup in brisbane i'm sure this will annoy a few that have already sent off their forms but ive requested that brizzy guys can pickup from fulcrum and john has agreed. anyone that has sent off theur form already, e-mail john @ UAS to get him to ammend the forms John Penlington [sales@uniqueautosports.com]
since we are buying them from UAS cant UAS install them for us guys in NSW? with a discounted price ofcourse maybe $150 like the suspension experts fulcrum?
Re: since we are buying them from UAS cant UAS install them for us guys in haha.. ask john.. the reason it was 150 for phat300 was because fulcrum needed a 300zx to 'autralianise' the coilovers on, testing and the like.. i think they should have done it for free.. but $150 was very cheap. how much normal fitment is, i wouldnt know, as ive never planned on taking it to the shop for such a simple task, it is time consuming though.. i'll ask john for some sort of deal.
Re: since we are buying them from UAS cant UAS install them for us guys in for UAS to fit and setup coilovers, your looking at $98 and hour and around 6hours labour + 4-wheel alignment can save 3 hours if you remove and refit all the rear trim yourself.
Payment of G.B. Tein Coil-Overs Hi minivan, Order form all faxed off to U.A.S. tonight (22nd March 2006)and paid for! Now the next part is installing the set... Cheers, Kaz. Alice Springs N.T.
Re: UAS will charge $600 plus wheel alignment? its an easy job. just takes alot of time take all the rear plastic panels out so they can get to the strut tops and you will save yourself $300
Re: UAS will charge $600 plus wheel alignment? i sent everyone an e-mail.. but i'll post here aswell.. if anyone wants to upgrade to tein type flex rather than super street coilovers, you can do so now.. for an extra 300 bux.. but i need to know by sunday night as these are being ordered early next week.. anyone not paid up yet??? hope you like your knee caps i am going type flex by the way.. basically next up in the range, stiffer spring rates again, and stronger shocks
I take it the spring rates for the type flex are as in the other post... Here i.e 8kg Front and 6kg Rear ? If this is the case, will these not be too stiff for street use ? When I was first talking to a mate about these shocks and we weren't sure if we were getting the Jap spec of US spec ones he said this about the spring rates: "Be aware that the specs on the web link you gave me are pretty wild !! 448 lb (8kg) springs are bone crunchers !! You will rattle your car to pieces !! My race only springs are rock hard in my Rx7 and they are no where near that stiff !! The backs I think are 336 lbs (6kg) !!! Again, wow that is stiff. You might want to check this, you will NOT like driving your car on the road with these....." Not trying to discourage anyone just thought I would post and wondered other peoples views - I am quite often wrong Matt.
My thoughts exactly I thought we went for super streets cos the spring rates were more streetable...so I'm curious why Andrew (Minivan) emailed an EOI for upgrading to Flex type. I'd like to hear some pros and cons. And BTW I'm all paid up - and I'm getting the impression that they have to receive all payments before we get our goods. Why is this? Does this mean just one slow payer will put all the fast payers on hold?:thumbsdown:
yes doom, hence the loss of their knee caps i'm also curious why we went to all the effort of soft springs and then there is an upgrade to stiffer springs?
I think the main advantage to the type flex is that you can adjust the ride height independently of the spring preload... If you corner balance your car (an explanation here) then with a system where you adjust ride height and preload together (as in the super street) the balancing of the car will affect the ride height on each corner, i.e they will all be different heights. The thing I don't know though is by how much !? is it a few mm or more ? Also I don't know how much of an effect a seperate preload will have on the situation... will they still have different heights even with a seperate preload ? So many questions !? I might post in Z-related to get some more views... Matt.
Re: what are the stock Z haha.. ok boys and girls.. i wasnt going to post this as i dont want to hold the group buy up.. thats why you only have till sunday night graham at fulcrum asked john if anyone was interested, and i'm just forwarding it on. i only use my car for fun, not to drive to work (i have a work car) i'm going to give the flex a go. i figure why not, new springs are around $200 if i dont like em dont stress, it was put to me today if anyone wants em.. i said to john that it will probably just cause a shit fight.. but ill ask anyway so the option is there if you want it the super street are already around 40% stiffer than stock.. have been described as where the stock ones should have been in the first place.. yes the flex will be very hard, dont get em if your not prepared to be in a back brace by the time you finish a long trip just options guys, sorry for the confusion, but i'm sure some people would have been upset if they found out later i was presented with the option and didnt forward it on
Type flex hmm i thought i was the one to be breaking the news to the forum after being contacted by both graham and john yesterday and today.... looks like you beat me too it. Don't know how relevent this bit is to this post here but... ill add it anyway. im sorry if it offends anyone it just FYI, no malice intended. For those who have missed out altogether don't panic. The other group buy will be offering the same prices as quoted already in its relevent thread backed by UAS and Fulcrum Aust. i will update that post later tonight after footy.
