sorry guys, there's a delay in pics.... they will be up by tonight (as in, tuesday night after work). Cheers
Yep! Steel! But it was pretty close to molten There was a decent wind whipping around, so as long as one had enough water on-board, the perspiration cooling system seemed to work fairly well! Like I said earlier, I worked it out that I drank some seven (count 'em, 7) liters of water... try doing that under normal circumstances!
Couldn't have been "HOT" Zedders Tim... because I wasn't there!...:LOL::thumbsup: And of course there's always "HOT" air whenever there's a Zed gathering.:thumbsup:
wykked's teck day Hi everyone, was'nt it bloody hot,a big thanks to peter & jen for hosting the day plenty of cold drinks & pizza great. Thanks to peter for the boost test which found one loose hose clamp. All the guys gave me tips on fitting my hard pipes they look great thanks.I left about 6.30pm and headed home to see what kind of damage the Bush Fires had done, all day my other half (sue) was ringing me updating the fire progress she was realy worried, it was getting very close at one stage.I got home about 7.45pm (record time) thanks to the Z power. There were cops with the road block, Fire trucks everywhere, some people had already evacuated, the cops let me through, i got home people every where, smoke all around us, it got a bit scarey at one stage, then the wind changed direction which saved the town from burning, the fire got to within 300mts of the closest house by 12.00am,the country fire authority and the ses done a great job saving our town.Everythings fine at the moment, they say thursday could be another bad one for our town. Keep you posted cheers roy
Re: wykked's teck day good to hear everythings alright Roy...let's hope all the bushfires get put out soon
wykked's teck day my home town is Yallourn North, for those who did'nt know about 5klm from the morwell hill climb. Thanks to mike also for escorting me to the sth gippy hwy.
To start off the pics Here's my favourite shot of the day. This goes to show the "legality" involved in tech days. Here we see Mark and Mike doing a shady deal in Peter's front yard. Quick someone call them coppers..... P/S - this is a posed shot and is in reality no means a shady deal. Serious.
It's no longer Fitzroy street Baz... These days it's a couple of streets back... Fitzroy street was a hit back in the 80s but now has become very trendy...Not that I have any experience in the fine art of loitering.
come on .. ??? one shady pic of one shady deal ...???!!! there has to to be more"shady" pics out there ...???!!!!!:LOL::LOL::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::wacko: edit: ooops . perhaps that should read "charddy pics" ??
Ok, here they are finally.. some pics of the day.. Well, once again, many zeds gathered a la casa di WYKKED. Big thanks again to both Pete and Jen.... Unfortuneatly for them, their house has really become one of the central meeting/social points for the vic crew. Its all there fault cos they're so nice and accomodating.. So what can be said? well it was f&^king hot!!! My ambient temp was reading 39 degree's on the way to petes house at 10:30am in the morning. By mid afternoon, easily over 40 degree's. I rarely take the zed out in such heat but it just felt wrong brining the rusted / trusty orange sigma to a zed tech day.. What was meant to be a minitech day, just ended up being a "tech day". There was no mini about it. We didnt have 50 zeds as the guys up north did, but I counted a healthy 30 something at one stage. When I got there, there were already about 10 zeds present. Pats car in the blistering heat, mikeys cars in the background cleverly hiding in the shade... Renee and Roys zed take cover under the carport.. Travs (mafi-zed) shiny new pipes... they really do look quite schmick 2 very shady characters..... best to keep clear... Graham was fascinated by the size of travs exhaust.... "hey mark, you wanna grab those shell helix bottles for me?" "yeah sure graham, what the f^&k for?" "oh nothing.........just curious" In the 40+ weather, mikey was the only one who refused to down tools and just kept working all day....what a trooper... Well, us victorians had our first zed engine pull. Only on a much smaller scale..... BigCol was doing an engine swap in his remote control zed.... if only a real zed was as easy.... no plenums, no engine cranes, no "oh shit, where does that go?" Engine crane?? bonnets?? bugger that, just take off the whole body.... Robb was the master of the exercise.... he's clearly done this before.... Not quite a VG30.... but this "donk" wil give Cols little racer a 30% power increase.... you may laugh, but the box actually comes with a minature dyno/power curve printed on the side.... according to rob, its not quite a TT transplant (like the one he has), but rather an NA on roids.... If only col was so eager to mod his real zed.. Col, not sure what you're photographing here..... the special 300zx logo??? or trying to get a good reflection shot?? Hey, thats my camera..... With the very hot weather, TWD's were all the talk. I did some installation in both Renee's (300zxChick) and dougs (red32) cars... I only did the wiring and cable tying... I left the drilling and placement of the LED to them.. Just some random pics..... It was really hard to work in that heat, so the tech day really centered around boost / vacuum leak tests and conzult analysis...... easy stuff... It got to the point where the heat had beaten us down and we all scampered to the shade of the garage to drink heaps of fluids.... hey, us melbournians are not use to extreme heat.. It wouldnt be a tech day, or any vic zed gathering if Max didnt pose for some shots... reluctant to drive the zed in such heat he brought the work ute instead... how the hell do I get stooged into taking photo's of you? And i'll finish on bens povo $12 dollar shoes.... he's real proud of them..... Great day as always... Nice to talk with the regulars, and meet some new faces... Hope everyone made it home safely and with no overheated engines... see ya's next time (hopefully on a more reasonably weathered day).. Cheers
nox ..why should i believe your no loitering claim ..?? ..but thanks for the update .. we 'ol farts don't get 'round much, anymore ..!!!!!!:LOL::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Jedi, you forgot to mention .... .... Ben's 10 cent socks to go with his povo shoes. Rumour has it that Ben buys his socks from a laundromat after they recover all the ones "lost" in the machines . And as for me working all day, it's just as well I'm not paid by the hour - takes me all day to stuff around on 3 things!!! Nice pix Mark :thumbsup:.
woohoo...pics :thumbsup:nice pics mark...was waiting for them for the last 2 days, good write up too
