Woo Hoo, took a punt on the weather and went back to WSID tonight. Nobody came, would have had 30 cars tops, shut the gates and let us have as many runs as we wanted till 8pm,then sent every body home. Had 4 runs in 30 minutes, best was a 12.294 with a 1.675 60 foot time, but was suffering from a loose gearshift lever and my changes were very granny like, went from 2nd to 5th on my first two runs. Then made sure of the changes on the next two but it cost me time, car is definately an 11 sec car. Thanks must go to Caz for the loan of her Micky Thompson tyres, man do they hook up or what, two 1.7 and a 1.6 ,60 footers testimony to that. Also big thanks to UAS for fitting diff and rear cradle bushes yesterday, completely fixed my wheel tramp from two weeks ago. Another Silver Zed up there competing, not a forum member,(Pete, advised him to join us) having his first run was stoked to get a 12.9 something. still pumped.
magic stuff by MR MAGIC ... well done, wiz ...!!!! .. cannot wait for the next chapter .. all that hard work coming to fruition ..!!!
What mods Hey Ron, congrats on the time. Had a look in your "garage" and saw the HP figure of 435rwhp. Assume that you're using GT28R? What other mods are you using to get that time? Diff gears? Nate
Well done Ron! Thats a great step towards being the first 11 sec street registered zed on the drag list.
Yeh, almost there JT Should of composed myself a bit more and taken a bit more time and probably would have done it. didn't even get to take off my helmet between runs as you would come back around to your staging lanes they would wave you straight out again. even went crook at me for letting some air out of the tyres. 25/60R turbos (S15) 300luva,stock diff, need to search my rebuilds to see mods, engine has everything except cams. will have to see what the problem with the gearshift is tomorrow.
Thanks Wokky LoL, swapped places with you on the drag list again. Don't realise how quick that is, was watching a big ford V8 running 12.2s also and saying to Brett (Ringin) that thing is f*^#ing quick.
dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm that is some awsome 60footers u can litrally smell the 11 sec gap i think each state should hold a fare...like they did in the young school days with the harley davidson bikes and it was like 10 bux to hop on...would love to feel the launch out of an 11sec zed :zlove: :zlove: :zlove: :zlove: good work
Hey Nice one Ron but you are getting too close to my 12 flat with the stock engine he he. About time it started working our for you mate and come on lets see that 11 sec pass. Damn almost got the 60 foot time record so close only a hair in it. MMM cant wait till my engine is sorted and back in its taking too long, might have to visit the bank now he he
LOL Jason Is that the 327 RWKW NOS breathing stock engine. Yep only a bee's dick in the 60 foot and ET, should have caught my breath and taken just a bit more time between runs instead of being rushed to get out there again, and i think i would have done a little better. How long till we see you back again? Yep Baz all the hard work is paying off. yep Chad, it's an awesome feeling, my back still has the imprint of my seat on it. still amazed by the grip those tyres provided:biggrin:
Awesome effort Ron, sounds like you got plenty of traction off the line. I wonder if you can eek out another 1/4 sec to bust an 11??
congrats Good to hear you got the rear end to behave. Low 12, thats a great time. Did you have the stereo on this time too?
Lol Actually it was playing when i rolled up for the first run yeti, iv'e pulled the plug on the antenna now to keep it down.
Great run, Wiz... you sound completely 'stoked', as well you should be!! Must be more than an "awesome" feeling... I reckon you'd be floating all the way home!! Wonder what it would feel like to match that Titan mob in the States with their 6+ runs in their Toyota 'Camrys'...at least you're halfway there! Keep going, mate, next step is definitely gunna be an "11"
hahaha now that would be a ride worth going on great time wizard cant even imagine the rush i would get from that
Ha ha yeah thats the one Ron. I should have cracked the 11 that day awesome 60 foot 330 and 660 foot then into third and clutch started to slip which slowed in down a bit, ran a terminal of 114 and it had more in it I think. As to when I am back probably next year now as project rebuild kicks into high gear. The build engine is hopefully sold and then my engine build can start as well as the kit being fitted and car painted etc there is a bunch of other goodies going in so she will really be the ZX2NV Not rushing it though and may have to buy another one for the short term to satisfy my need for track time and drag action
Be good When you get it all sorted Jase, need to take your time and do it right. Should be a standout when it's finished. Competition, definately an itch that needs to be scratched.
Its killing me Ron and its only been like 3 months Max. Dont know how you lasted so long, you must have every racing game for the PS2 known to man
To Old For ps2 , Just had to grin and bear it watching you blokes go round Just going to enjoy it now that its all back together.
