Riding a pushy down Kariong hill, you crazayyyy?!

I could, but the only reason why i've got this red car is because I agreed to get rid of it as fast as possible. They already complain about this car in the way, let alone another one.

It's late and I'm tired, but I'm thinking more and more about my future plans and doubting them even more then what I ever have. I'm wanting a fast, torquey daily/street car. Is this setup too large for what I'd ever use on the streets? Will I hit the 350rwkw mark that I'm aiming for with those mods and without headwork?

A whole lot of questions running through my head and not enough knowledge/experience to answer them myself.

If anyone has a list of mods they believe will be more responsive/better for a street car, feel free to list them or voice your opinion.

You seem focused on a phantom calculated peak number as a goal for a daily car. Seems like you submit your feelings of the results to a dyno operator rather than vehicle performance.

Sounds like an oxymoron objective to me.

Just build the thing and enjoy it.

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

    Couldn't agree more

That, and to the best of my knowledge you STILL haven't been in a 350kw zed so you don't even know what you want

The reason that I'm shooting for that number is due to the fact that I know it's the most I can achieve without spending big money like Rob, BB, Procky and other builds of that scale.

I want to do this once and do it right, I don't want to be disappointed down the road and have to pull the engine again because I desire more power.

Ditcham, not exactly the easiest thing to find. The only person that I'm aware of with that power is Procky. Plus the way they reach that kind of power will be completely different to the way I reach mine, if I decide to go down this road. I'm not trying to make excuses for not experiencing what that kind of power feels like, if given the opportunity I'd jump at it.

Does xxx hp make you a happier person?

So disregard how the vehicle performs on a road under all axis and refer to xxx hp sheet of paper for emotional satisfaction?

I think it's time for your phyc to prescribe a hub dyno to quell your ills.

Off to buy a hub dyno I go then.

If you were a seasoned driver with lots of performance cars under your belt I would say do it . But if you were , there wouldnt be any of this concern .

No offence Jamie but you are at the beginning of your driving carreer , even 300rwkw car imo will be too much power for you to use on the street . It will not wear thin I assure you and when the day does comes , you will be in a different stage of your life that pulling motors to feed your power lust will be like having a cup of coffee .

Like the guys have said build it and enjoy it . When you drive 300rwkw You wont care about the extra 50 ;)

Thanks mate, completely agree with you on the experience thing. I've got tonnes to learn and agree that kind of power is going to be a huge step up. I don't intend on enjoying all of that power though at first, start with low boost and slowly increase it when I feel i'm comfortable with it.

What I discovered with these cars coming on boost at 4k , you just dont have enough road to enjoy it . And this is stock so I hate to think what a worked engine will be like as a daily :)

Is it a daily, a show car or a full noise strip track weapon?

As an example , my Daily Driver runs stock turbos, at 12 psi low and 18 psi high setting. Remapped ECU by Toshi with a focus on Max Mid range torque rather then peak HP. My car also has JAPTEK Sidemounts, POD, 2.5 Catback exhaust to Cannon tips, also has an Automatic trans with massive cooler and runs increased line pressure for harder shift. All these mods done for less then 4K on top of cars purchase price of $4500.

This all resulted in 13.6 on the quarter mile (me - terrible driver) in May at low boost of 12psi with wheelspin through first and halfway through 2nd gears on 275 rears. 13.8 at 18psi. Once I get dedicated strip rear rims and run lower tyre pressure and learn how to drive the thing on the strip, then hoping to break a 12 sec . The car beat an XR6 turbo and SS commodore chasing both down at the top end.

My point is , my car might have 210 - 230 rwkw MAX and for a daily driver that is MORE then enough for the street. I used to have a mid 12 sec turbo RX7 with 250 rwkw - that was a pain in the neck for a daily. I have also owned and built 2 show cars which both lived in the 12s, they were horrible for a daily - So comes back to the end goal really. I cant afford two cars, so I have to live with a comfy, good looking sexy torque monster that my fiance is happy to ride in LOL. And I also know its reliable :br:

Listen to all these replys , A TT zed factory is 320 HP, learn to drive it first and maintain it, then make your decision if you need a land based rocketship.

I think you are doing it the right way. Engine on a stand takes up no room and you can continue to build it as funds permit...

Honestly 220-250kw is more than enough for a road car and when your first starting off. 300 up your just asking to get speeding tickets and the car will just be boring to drive as you will continually have to restrain yourself.

Mate - 350 is a good goal - have that as a target if you want without modifying anything to much but don't be disappointed if you get near 300 area :)

    300rwkw is a powerful daily.

My car = weekend car/ possible track car
Black beast= track weapon and monster car
The extra 50 odd kilowatts you may not notice and soon as you increase your power you loose street ability and it becomes (as was said above) laggy feeling and almost boring as you have to keep away from 4000rpm because you break the sound barrier when you get there

My 2+2 has GT2560R turbo's and made 260rwkw@14 with stock engine/injectors. The car is quick and VERY responsive.
350rwkw is a bucket load for a street car, I know I couldn't resist a squirt every time I drove it haha.

Don't focus too much on what power it makes, more what power band it has. I've driven heaps of zeds, TT & NA, everything from bog standard Auto TT to Rob260's Beast. To be honest, the best/most fun car to drive was Emiles(MoulaZX's) Zed, had the best power band and pulled like a train when on boost.
