a bit expensive for my budget. if the cars nearly everything i want and dont have to do much the limit will be around 12k

happy to buy interstate but mainly SA or NSW unless its really special

    Pity its a 2 seater

really interested in this red one because its a 2+2 manual, red, targa, Twin turbo for 4k front bar is ok not the best one i have seen but still pretty good looks like a veilside 180,000 kms isnt too bad but wil need a major service but that will give me peace of mind anyway
    alarmed and 6 month rego
good thing is he says its a clean car inside and out
    for 4,000......... wernt 300zx's like 80k new?

    Ok so just rang
    4000 is pretty firm
by ''racing brakes'' he means slotted rotors all round
    stock exhaust
    no Boost controller
    no overheating issues
great condition but spoiler needs a cut which is nothing
30%bigger clutch(thinks its some german brand) single plate

he said it has a boost leak which he thinks is hoses and the tailshaft vibrates a bit at high speeds but thats all

still seems like a good buy and 90% sure im going to look at it

If you do buy it, don't sell the rims. BURN them! :p

They can stay for a little while jamie while i find some decent ones but would spend more time getting the mechanicals right...... plenum pull, put a boost control in not sure if electric or manual and a gauge, do the timing belt, water pump etc(180,000kms), service, fix boost leak, and a turbo rebuild might be on the cards if they are 180,000 kms old the bushes would be fairly worn but ill see.

i will do all the work myself so this will save me money and quickly acquaint myself with the 300zx engine. MickW (see above posts) might be coming down with me to look at car too.

does anyone know of anyone that has put a car seat in a z32? dont think they have the hooks but its legal to do it yourself(ive done 1 before and its stronger then originals) and i read that infants are allowed to be in targa top vehicles as long as the targa roof is on...... this is right yeah?

Don't take that comment too seriously, look what i've had on mine for the past few months. They are next on the list to go though... Just waiting for the right set of rims to pop up ;)

I have a baby seat in my Zed...

Its the Safe n Sound Compaq Deluxe. I had it rear facing for one year. It does fit that way, but it means the passenger side front seat has to be moved all the way forward. Not very comfortable for the wife. Luckily, she is not a giant. :) Now that Anabel is over 1 year old, the baby seat is now forward facing and space is no longer issue. The front passenger seat can be put in a comfortable position, and still have plenty of room for the baby seat in the back.

All 2+2 zeds must come with baby anchor points in the back, whether they were sold here in Australia or imported and then complianced. If they are not present, they have either been removed or someone did a dodgy compliance job. They are located in the boot, underneath the carpet, above the spare wheel.

Also, because the zed rear seats are essentially bucket seats, fitting the baby seat will be difficult. You need to get some old towels and put them in the bucket seat to level it out. Then put the seat protector liner which comes with the baby seat (or buy extra) on top of the towels, and then the baby seat on top. I did the installation myself, but that was after watching a professional installer. You will also need to buy a clip to attach to the seat belt which essentially turns the rear seat belt into a lap sash belt. Without this, you will not be able to tighten the seat down.

    Cheers

yeah aligator clip things i know. seat goes on middle, left or right side?
is there only 1 anchor point and if so where?
ive got a baby seat in my FTO and i put 1 in my girlfriends mums lancer so shouldn't be an issue.

hopefully the car is what he says it is tomorow
how much does it cost for a new uni join or the rubber or whatever it is that goes in the driveshaft that causes vibration assuming its this?

    Well...

There is one anchor point behind each seat. The baby seat has to go on either the left side or right side. Personal preference I guess, try both and see which is best. For me, based on where the car sits in the garage and that I like to look over and see what my daughter is doing, I put the seat on the passenger side.

Looked at the red tt300zx today for $4,000. I will call it a renovators delight though for that price you sort of expect it. without being too picky

1psi of boost max(he told me it had a boost leak TBH)
front bar was cracked up along with cracked P/S front fender
neither front seatbelts retracted properly and some of roof lining coming off
drivers side window jammed when low
fair few oil leaks under motor
the shifter was really sloppy, but gearbox changes and clutch were good
and more but didnt even test air con, cruise etc etc

paint condition was average but not the worst for a red
engine ran smoothly and sounded healthy apart from no boost

    verdict: more looking:)

Good on you for walking away, keep it in mind though, maybe see if you could get it cheaper...

They actually look alright man, paint them a different colour and they'd be fine. Look similar to mine.

I can't stand the look of chromies now... I'm willing to spend say $2.2K-$2.3K on a set of rims and then whatever the tyres cost. But Mikey suggested I get TE37 replicas and get them powdercoated white. It's an option, but i'm not 100% sold on the look of those rims.
