Exhaust and 15psi is a bit of a difference over stock. Wheels magazine tested the r32 gtr when it was new and from memory, they got something like 13.8 or so, i'll dig it up. As for the r32 gtst, I've had one and they are closer to a 15 stock. The thing that i've found with most skylines I've driven is that their power delivery makes them seem like they are faster than they really are. For example, my r32 gtst felt quicker than my TT zed, but would get completely smashed by my friend's S14, whereas the zed could beat the S14. Most skylines have a lot of lag and then turbo rush, whereas a zed and especially a stock zed has a much more linear power delivery. Kirill
15 stock is still alright i guess, for a little 2 ltr. I know what you mean about them feeling faster than they are, this is my second r32 gtst and my third car with an rb20 , the vl i had with rb20det massive exhaust strait through no cats and massive front mount with bald ass tyres, no power steering and ALOT of lag felt like a ****ing monster .... but it wasnt hehe.
Plenty of guys on SAU have run low 13 high 12's with stock gtr's, have to be brutal on the launch though as in redline drop clutch. someone mentioned hpi tested R33gtst's as well at 14.37 but couldn't find article or anything. Yeah first list is a bit dodgey but I was only comparing gtst vs TT zed. My only point was that performance isn't much different in stock form and that an NA zed is nowhere near close to a gtst. I'm not a keyboard warrior, so rather than being rude, i'll just point some things out. First things first, I like skylines and have owned an r32 gtst. Like you, I want to keep an unbiased opinion based on facts rather than bs stories. Unfortunately, in my experience, SAU is chock full of bs stories. Case in point? You say someone at SAU reckons HPI tested an r33 gtst and it ran 14.3 or something similar. I have that HPI at home, I can scan it and post it up here, they in fact compare a manual r33 gtst to an auto zed, and the skyline gets something like a 14.9 or even a 15. HPI LOOOVE skylines, so I have no trouble believing they actually put real figures down, they would not downplay skylines. If you really are unbiased and want to stick to facts, I suggest you stop getting all your info from "guys from SAU". Kirill
Put my stock na zed up against my mates stock r32gtst, rolling start, there was nothing in it pretty much on par with each other. I guess it depends on the condition of the engines and the skill of the driver
I wasn't getting my info from SAU, first list was off a US site and second list was from the ford forums funnily enough. well last night me n my mate wanted too see whos was faster. my na 1990 auto zed or his 92 mt r32. we went from rolling start on anzac ave n smashed it. lets just say i was able to stop at a red light and when it was green he still didnt catch me. i hit 185 before i stopped slowing down. good effort i say he thought he was gonna smash me and now his bro thinks he can smash me with an na 92 s13. wtf is wrong with ppl??
It's all good, I only got that one bit from SAU. I looked around quite a lot before posting, didn't want to be posting totally wrong numbers.
you cant really compare an n/a zed to an n/a r32.... which im guessing would be a rb20de.... if you went up against a rb20det it would be a bit more even.... if you want a proper test.... theres so many varients etc, it comes down to driver etc etc.... its not all about how fast it goes, drags are boring.

yep anzac ave redcliffe. we did it at 2:45 this morning. there was no cars dont worry. and im not a dickhead like all those other p platers. is it just me or when a p plater sees you in a zed they have to race you at the lights?
