Be interesting to see how running with a u bend affects it. I once drove a high comp tt on stock turbos with no ic's and just a u bend (stock pipework) and it added a silly amount of lag. Threw on stock rubber pipes to the ic's and it was back to no lag. Wasn't my car though so don't know if there were any other factors affecting this.
Hmm, never heard of that happening? But who knows, i've personally never driven a zed in that configuration but in theory it should be fine. Also got the correct crank sleeve today! Guys part number is "Chicago Rawhide 99331" for anyone interested in doing it
90* bends are horrible for air speed, I would find a better way. custom plenum with outwards intakes or even cross the intake pipes over...
I wanna see how fast this goes. I never got a 100% full pass in my stock turbo setup. I reckon you could go a fair bit quicker. throw it together run it
Got the crank sleeve on, just need to trim a bit as it hangs over the crank. Installed some of the vacuum lines for the Profec B. Just need a few more lines for coolant and to install the rear main and she's ready to go Will be on stock injectors for now as my top feed rails need some mods to fit. Not expecting miracles from its first few passes but i have confidence it can run a good time, assuming i can drive it Just FYI for everyone here's a good thread on why i chose to go to 2.5" turbo inlets http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=308881 Cliffs:
Crank sleeve trimmed and rear main seal is on. Just a couple of coolant hoses left and it's ready to go in.
Took a while to get here, i must admit i had been pretty lazy though. Decided on saturday that i would do up the coolant hoses and a few other little bits and pieces. One thing led to another...... Still need to solder new injector connectors, put on the drive belts, starter, radiator and a few other things but she's getting there. Started doing up the lines for the Profec B too. Forgot to go to UAS on saturday to drop off my nistune board for installation, will have to go sometime this week after work. So far we have: Stock Manual Turbos Stock Dumps 2.5" UAS Catback 2.5" Custom Front Pipes Profec B EBC 2.5" AMS Turbo Intakes 2.5" AMS Turbo Outlets KLS Intercooler(580x280x100) TT Fuel Pump HKS SSQV Bov's ACL Race Bearings(Mains and rods) FULL 200k Service done New Oil Pump Still have to install: Top Feed Fuel Rail Subaru 820cc Injectors NIStune Board And tune her on corn juice(E70)
Nah, would rather drive it as is for now and pull it out later to do the compound. I don't think i could stand driving it as a low comp NA.
But you're already used to it being slow Are those Subaru injectors going to be alright with the corn juice? Also, why the **** are you going to attempt the tune the car on Caltex?
Profec B EBC worst mod on the list . This will give you a massive headache especially if tuning yourself. Hallman pro ftw. If you are tuning yourslef make sure you use some exhaust gasket goo to have the exhaust side air tight before the wideband. your gonna love it. your gearbox wont I have high hopes for this on the strip good luck
Yeah to be honest the Profec B was my least favourite EBC, wanted a HKS EVC4 but came across the profec B for really cheap. Hoping it does well on the strip, the auto cams and NA diff should help my short time hopefully.
Update time! I would like to say big thanks to Robert (Rob260) for coming to mine and installing my injector connectors, boost gauge and boost controller. Couldn't be any happier So far the engine has oil in it and 99% of the loom is connected apart from a few small bits. Few things to point out: Standard accordion pipes fit over AMS 2.5" turbo inlets, they are bloody tight and are a bastard to fit, but they fit. Since i'm running the AMS 2.5" coned outlets aswell the standard piping doesn't even come close to fitting, i had some random bits of 45 degree 2.25" bends lying around and they actually fit perfectly. Just need a lot of new couplers now as i've run short. Don't ever let a 43kg German shepherd near your car, you will end up missing half the loom for the lights and blinkers! Can see the mild steel piping here
So with the AMS coned outlets to 2.5" ? You need 2.5" hard pipes to attach to the intercooler piping ? Or Just to clarify
