Sure, why not..... Firstly I was new and naive in this field, I'm not so naive now after being in it for a while and noticed how your "special prices" are not so special and for everything you've "done for me" I had to praise you on the forum, I didn't like being pressured by you and went somewhere else. I was quiet about it but you've asked for it.
There's no logic to your argument...... maybe there's more to your story than the auto? If not, it's just sad:|
Good summation Dave..>> Hopefully, there will be at least some people who will heed your comments......but I'm not holding my breath.Tony
Sorry Marek......>> You can call me biased (and I probably am) but even if you remove all bias your posts now and your posts back then are greatly at odds with themselves. Earlier you claimed that Simon blew your transmission after driving it for 2 days on the limit, yet your posts at the time show that it happened more then 2 weeks after your car was first upgraded. Anyone who has dealt with Simon personally and has had their ECU upgraded would know that Simon doesn't drive their car at the limit for two days, and in fact rarely drives customers cars.Having an aftermarket transmission cooler, while being a sound investment, is not absolutely nessecary provided the existing cooling system is in good working order. If an upgraded cooler was required I'm sure that both JWT and Stillen would stipulate the installation of such, coming from America (the land of litigation) as they do. I would theorise that your cooling system was in a degraded state and it was that which led to the demise of your auto. It is hardly fair to blame the ECU or the person who sold it for that.To compound your mistakes when confronted with them instead of saying "oops I must have been mistaken" you go on the offensive again by lashing out and claiming that you only made those posts in the past because you were pressured into it and every post you made praising Simon was done for that reason. I'm sorry Marek, I just don't find what you say to be believable any more.
You don't have to be sorry, sometimes the... truth can be stranger then fiction if it's well manipulated by others. Now to your theory, I didn't have any different problems with my cooling then I have now with after market radiator and oil cooler (thanks to you) so if you knew anything then why I wasn't told about it, was this on purpose to create more jobs for mates? And of course I think you should be the last person to post on this subject, I know who you work for. When I was driving the car for 2 weeks I didn't have any problems with my a/t and when was driven to the limits for 2 days the a/t was fried. How would you feel if you put your car to the mechanic to replace PTU and when you pick up a car your a/t's gone, and the explanation will be we're testing the car and that's what happen. I don't think you'll be happy and blame yourself.Another thing, a moderator on this forum should be someone objective and as you said it yourself you're biased, so maybe it's time for change.I don't get any rewards for what I'm saying here so why would I lie now, I'm just a member like most of us but a bit more pissed off on what is going on behind the scenes. That's the last I'm posting on this metter, I've had enough fun for now.
What a load of crap. Grow up. Firstly let's get this out of the way, yes I know Simon through working on his website, so like WYKKED I am probably biased. You really really need to be careful making comments on a public forum like you have. There is a fine line between making comments on experience with a dealer/workshop/etc and slander. Not only does this create a possible legal problem for yourself but just makes you look like a dickhead to forum members who can read your previous posts.Anybody who remembers the war of words with Nick and John@UAS, can also remember how ugly these things can get.Don't get me wrong, I agree that if someone out there is ripping Z owners off, AND you can't sort it out directly that it is in our interests to warn each other......but you need to be very careful about doing this, and not just lashing out at someone, because you don't want to blame yourself or if there is no one else to blame. You mention "going on behind the scenes", well it looks obvious that you have something more going on behind the scenes, than what you post.I have a number of items in my car that came from Simon and never ever has he asked me to push any of his products on the forum. Why have you changed your story from 2001 to now?Mark
Please Reply I find your post out right Wrong,Have you ever had a motor Built? Have you had your car on the Dyno, Did you realise that if they blow your Motor to bits it your problem??? It called all care no responcibility. Call the small clames triburnal They Will tell you all about it.
i agree with what dangerous said... Now how about a make-up 300zx cruise?! Before winter comes along (and my car won't leave the garage at all).
Um, BigKid, a simple (and unbiased) question Do you think its logical to blame a transmission problem on the way it was used over the last two days of its life before it died, not knowing anything about the history of the transmission for its first 7-8 years, or the way it was driven during that time? Also, a gain of 60 engine horsepower is not a huge gain over stock. I'd hope that Nissan engineers would have designed in a higher level of strength/durability margin than that in their drivetrains, in the interest of durability and safety. Please note that I'm not taking part in any questions or comment on how or why your transmission died, I'm just asking you about the conclusions that you've drawn when it died. Hell, I've blown up diffs at 10 KPH, and I'm sure it wasn't what I was doing at the time that killed them
Heh heh - good point :-0 Nup, "Driving" at about 10 kph around a corner when a diff centre bearing cap let go. Definitely a case of the last straw breaking the camel's back. Made a mess too, considering the low speed of everything.
Interesting comments..>> From Dangerous, theSmurf and Zmokin , if everyone should take into account they don't know the history of a Z and embrace "caveat emptor" when buying a car or having a service provided I would suggest that a lot these accusatory posts would not have eventuated. According to the self admitted bias and clique that exists on this forum Marek should just cop things sweet. Two things are irrefutable, Marek had no apparent problems with his A/T prior to and immediatly after the installation of the ECU and Simon was behind the wheel when it happened. Only Marek and Simon know exactly what transpired, the timeframe that existed between the ECU installation and the A/T being fried is irrevelant and Marek has a right to be upset at what occured in the circumstaces no matter what the actual cause of the breakdown was. I could imagine the outcry if the same thing happened at Z-Shop.There would be accusations of incompetance, conspiracy, rip-off, legal threats ad-nauseam , we have seen enough evidence of that . As for being carefull about the threat of legal action in recent posts I find this amusing. If anyone cares to look at some of the things I have been accused of, because I attribute some of them at best to a complete lack of intelligence, or at worst to a dysfunctional brain I have adopted the GT theory and had a good laugh. If both Marek and I are such bad judges of integrity and quality a lot of forum members might be surprised that we own two of the better Z's around and are not coughing and farting around Melbourne or non -operational like some of the other under-powered money-pit Zeds around . Tony
by Mareks own admission here is a chronologi By Mareks own admission here is a chronological order of events (I'm just joining the dots here) 22-MAR-2001 ECU Installed and Marek is pleased with the result 8-APR-2001 Marek announces gearbox problems 20-APR-2001 changed gearbox an Marek is happy again 21-OCT-2001 Marek flogs his car at 160Km/Hr (see video part way down the page). Still no upgraded oil cooler and didn't destroy his gearbox. 10-NOV-2001 Installed upgraded radiator and oil cooler Now Marek has said that is was mandatory to install a oil cooler along with the ECU upgrade yet he was quite happy to drive it for 6 months plus a flogging at Philip Island.
Well then From Dangerous, theSmurf and Zmokin , if everyone should take into account they don't know the history of a Z and embrace "caveat emptor" when buying a car or having a service provided I would suggest that a lot these accusatory posts would not have eventuated. According to the self admitted bias and clique that exists on this forum Marek should just cop things sweet. (1)"Not at all" There are ways of doing things Two things are irrefutable, Marek had no apparent problems with his A/T prior to and immediatly after the installation of the ECU and Simon was behind the wheel when it happened. (2) "Well That they are, was the box serviced the day befor the ECU was installed? Did a engineer provide a writen report on the box? If not how was the box deamed to be Aparently Perfect?" Zmokin Only Marek and Simon know exactly what transpired, the timeframe that existed between the ECU installation and the A/T being fried is irrevelant and Marek has a right to be upset at what occured in the circumstaces no matter what the actual cause of the breakdown was. (3)"Be upset But dont Blaintly point a finger when you cannot prove a fact Refer to comment 2" I could imagine the outcry if the same thing happened at Z-Shop.There would be accusations of incompetance, conspiracy, rip-off, legal threats ad-nauseam , we have seen enough evidence of that . (4) I would hope that after this people would know better As for being carefull about the threat of legal action in recent posts I find this amusing. If anyone cares to look at some of the things I have been accused of, because I attribute some of them at best to a complete lack of intelligence, or at worst to a dysfunctional brain I have adopted the GT theory and had a good laugh. (5) Lets not point fingers If both Marek and I are such bad judges of integrity and quality a lot of forum members might be surprised that we own two of the better Z's around and are not coughing and farting around Melbourne or non -operational like some of the other under-powered money-pit Zeds around . (6) I would have thought by now after writing this long winded post you would have Known not to throw accusations of poor performance around. Tony See you at the Strip ZMOKIN
Well put , I must say with the passion/feelings expressed in this thread heaven help the United Nations in dealing with the big issues of the day. Lets keep things in perspective and recognize the forum is a great benefit to many. Maybe as individuals we need to self regulate and launch CONSTRUCTIVE comments rather than cruise missiles.
