    no the model numbers changed

    like they refer to one as the GT2860 or 2560 that sorta thing, wheraes i was simply used to calling it GT28R or 28RS (knowing in my head that there were different A/R versions)

    Thats because you are talking about the wrong turbo mate the one for $1120 isnt the GT28R its the GT2560R smaller again I quoted you on the GT2860R the true Garrett GT28R. This is where its gets confusing for everyone as peopel talk in different tongues and different names etc. When Garrett and GCG talk about the GT28R its the GT2860R when they talk about the GT28RS its the GT2860RS (same as the R but high flowed version) The we have the GT2871R of the same name but 5 different part numbers to suit different models and the GT2871RS which is a faster spooling version of the GT2871R
    There is also 4 different versions of the GT2860RS and refers mainly to flange inlet or hose inlet and the comp cover outlet type 3 bolt 2 bolt etc to suit different cars.

    Confused yet:D

    Yep you cant have your cake and eat it too. External gate housings dont use HKS actuators in the true sense they use treu wastegates like oversized blow off valves very cool sound when full atmo plumbed but only for the TRACK hey Ali

    When the naming convention of the Garrett turbo's changed, the GT28R became the GT2560R

    See below:
    S15=GT28R=GT2560R not the GT2860R
    JWT 530BB =GT2554R
    GT2860R = See below.
    GT2860RS=JWT 700BB (Disco potato)

    Personally, I'd like to see a GT2554R kit be developed that I don't have to pay $2850USD for.

    My 2c.

    Okay cool

    From now on when anyone talks about turbos use the full current names no shortened versions. The GT28RS is known as the GT2860RS the same as all other types such as GT2871R and RS GT2860R GT2560R etc etc

    That should clear it up a bit

    So can you pls get a price based on the official GT28R (ie the GT2560R) now that we're talking apples and apples :)

    Yes will do you want the hose comp cover inlet with 3 bolt outlet or flange inlet and 3 bolt flange outlet ( I thinks its 3 bolt for the 300 correct if wrong here)

    Will officially find out monday but a quick guess going of fthe GT2860R price quoted would be around the 1k mark maybe less but will check to make sure may be less as its a T25 size so smaller than the GT2860R being T28 so maybe cheaper again

    You need to get the stock two bolt type inlet housing like the standard zed one.

    Its much easier to use

    Thats right Mattz as Tekky said but it depends on what you want it to do. If making all custom piping the hose type is probably better. The Garrett 2 bolt flange type dont suit the zed off the shelf and an adpator needs to be made up. This is part of the turbo kit we are putting together.

    Do the research on pricing etc but I emplore you to wait until at least the finalised details of the kits on offer actually are before making any decisions. It may work out a tad more than what you think you can get it all done for but think about the running around etc you would have to do to source all the individual components. Just my 2c as I am confident the kits will be very attractive for what you get in them and the overall quality of the lines and adaptors will be very high.

    I don't need a kit, just 2 turbo's.

    As for the intakes, I'm making my own piping, so I'm not too fussed (ie. haven't really considered the pro's and con's yet)

    If you can get me a price on the turbo's for a setup, and then +-$ for alternative configuration that would be sweet! Thanks

    Is that for all orders to Aus John from now on or just turbos and kits etc. If its for all thats a win win for us all.

    I dont think there is any difference in cost between flange and hose inlet etc but will make sure. And where you talking to me of John@z1 re the above question the post isnt quoted

    Hose inlet

    If you want the hose inlet they are cheap but fitting is big problem and cost. You will need to mod the passenger side factory alloy engine mount by cutting and shutting and Tig weld support, with lots of braces. Otherwise we can supply custom mild steal engine mounts, as we have made a jig, and if enough demand we cold get them laser cut and mass produced. This is with 2 3/4 inch hose inlet. Another option is to have these kits with flange inlet and outlet and we can get an adapter that bolts to the two bolt inlet that converts to hose and smaller size to clear engine mount at 2.5 inch instead of the 2 3/4 inch normally. We could also get this with long snout to clear the exhaust manifold as you can't have silicon anywhere near the exhaust manifolds as they turn to powder after while from heat.

    The kit we are working on with Jason's input and being made by the largest turbo centre in Australia GCG, is a direct bolt on using factory inlet and outlet fo turbo so cheap and easy and effective. If one wants different to this then cost more in parts and labour and marginally btter set up. GCG also have the best VSR balancing machine in Australia.
